josephine always believed she was born into the wrong household. not that she doesn’t love her siblings minus her eldest brother and her sister-in-law. she was somewhat of a wild child. would come home from playing and lessons with scraped knees and elbows, leaves in her hair, mud on her dress.

she was very clearly the youngest sibling. always tagging along and she had an opinion about any and everything (which she would let you know what that was whether you liked it or not.)

There's two of you: a before and after adoption; the before seems like another life though you still have glimpses. You can almost remember your birth mother's voice and the way she smelled, but you cannot seem to remember why she could not stay. You only know that you were handed off from person to person until you came to the Almeida's at the age of two. The first smile that you remember came from them, your adopted mother and father; it was they who taught you what family meant and it is them that you've spent your entire life trying to be worthy of. Though they never made you feel as if you were not theirs, you have spent every moment trying to earn that love they bestowed on you.

If there is one thing you can be certain of in London ton, it's that rumors are swirling about at any given moment. The whole place is a mess of he said, she said and no family generates quite as many rumors as the Fairfax's. Rumors of their father's escapades had filled the ton for years; they said that he gambled, drank, and visited brothels, but no one truly knew for sure...either that or they simply found it prudent not to verify anything. Either way, scandal never seemed to touch the family; it just hovered around them like a scent on the wind. He taught his children that boundaries only exist if someone is looking. Born the only child to Mr & Mrs. Harris, Isabella's life is one of tragedy from the very beginning. Her mother, an unknown figure to her as Isabella took her first breath...
