"How To Climb"
I have difficulty saying "no, thank you" and so I have a tendency of getting myself into situations that I then don't know how to get out of. This is not a new problem, I have always been this way.
Indeed, I am reminded of how as a child I would often, repeatedly, climb specifically willow trees (10/10 do NOT recommend) despite never knowing, then, how to climb back down again. The inevitable descent I achieved only by way of falling, either alone or accompanied by the newly broken branch on which I had rather foolishly placed all of my weight.
Fortunately I have nearly always been very good at landing ā due to all that invaluable practice. It is not for lack of trying that I have, in fact and surprisingly, never broken a bone (unless we count that one hairline fracture in my nose, probably my tailbone, and perhaps, almost definitely, my patellas).
My immense talent and skill at both falling and landing notwithstanding, it is high time that I master a new skill set. At this ripe old age of 36, my bones are not what they once were. If I continue with the falling method, one of these days I will break more than a tree branch.
I need to learn how to climb down and out of trees in the safe and usual manner.
So... Does anyone have the instructions?
