Long runabout or shuttle trips are stressful experiences. There are some things you can do to make them more survivable, though. Wear comfortable clothing with multiple layers on your sitting portions. Bring some PADDs with fiction AND non-fiction loaded onto them (you will get bored of one of them halfway through). If you have someone you know, traveling together is better than alone. If you’re on a shuttle, bring snacks and a drink; replicators on shuttles are way worse than replicators on runabouts. The fewer bags the better. Daydreaming is a wonderful way to pass the time, but don’t spend too long looking out at the stars. You’ll get a crick in your neck. Get up and stretch once in a while. It really helps.
And please, please don’t travel from DS9 to Bajor and back in one day if you can help it. Three hours per trip makes it sound like eight hours on Bajor will be worth it. It isn’t.
