Long-tailed skippers because they're cute.
The tails on the butterfly are longer than this, hence its name, but I ran out of room to draw on.
[ID: two simple digital drawings with thick lines and flat colors against white backgrounds.
The first shows a caterpillar with a light green body, with a yellow horizontal stripe down its side, a paper green stripe above its legs, and five stumpy orange back legs, and three black claws for front legs. Its head is dark red, with brighter orange-red around its large, dark eye, and a black marking in the middle of its face.
The next picture shows an adult butterfly, with grey wings with darker brown and light yellow slotches, some of which are shaped like hearts. It has three grey legs that 3nd in white, and the back of its head and upper body are grey-blue. Two short 'tails' extend from the end of its body.
End ID.]
If you were an insect, you’d probably be a Madagascar sunset moth. :)
Certainly a very vibrant species, aren’t they? I wouldn’t be opposed, not in the slightest! Even if I’ve always fancied myself a long-tailed skipper, personally.
(A splash of colour, but modest. Also a bit on the plump side, looking very satisfied about it.)
