Here is an update to what I am currently reading!
I am reading a behemoth of a book right now! And I am only on page 237 of over 1000 pages! It is Ken Follett's first novel of the Century Trilogy, Fall of Giants.
I am a big Ken Follett fan. Pillars of the Earth is one of my favorite novels of all time. That novel is also a historical work, but it's set in Middle Ages England. Follett does an amazing job with character development. He can keep the reader's attention despite the storyline following multiple characters. FoG is similarly written in that there are interweaving storylines with lots of characters! I mean lots! If you don't like books with multiple perspectives, then this might not be your cup of tea.
The story begins with a storyline from a little Welch boy's perspective. Europe is on the brink of the first World War. I am already seeing themes of love, deception, and power come in to play--something that Follett is known for in his writing. I am curious to see how the story plays out!
