November is a straaaange month this year.... In both good and bad ways... #LongPostAlert Normally after Halloween we all get ready for Christmas and think about our plans for the new year. However, I thought about this year, I thought of how in London my first lockdown meant I could speak to my dad every day. I thought about the first weekend I really got to see my friends and that Sunday afternoon I got the call that I needed to go to Dominica. I thought about doing my covid test, the experience of filling out the survey to be allowed in to Dominica. The booking the trip process.... I thought about my wearing my mask and having to change it every 3 hours because i was on an 8 hour flight and the masks stop working after 4. I am so glad and grateful for this year. I rested, grieved, I've realigned myself, I've stayed in Dominica longer than I ever had since I was 7. (Those who don't I'm a legal British immigrant - quite proud of myself about that!) This week I've seen tweets about what people wanna do in 2021 and for me this is all that came to my head. I love travelling and I want to grab the bull by the horns. Nothing is holding me back anymore. I mean if a virus can do it - so can I right?! This year has taught me to love with no boundaries, forgive with no limits, rest with no guilt and dream my wildest dreams. I truly believe God has something great planned for each of us next year! But I dont think He is done with us with this year yet. #LONGPOSTALERT Sooo, I bought a Bora Portamate PM-3550 omnimovement mobile base last month.... If you know anything about these mobile bases, you know they are not even close to cheap. I got this mobile base because I want to be able to move heavy machinery in the shop without a whole bunch of rigamarow. I unbox this base and start putting it together (the assembly directions are terrible BTW). Once I finally figure out how to put it together, I put my piece of machinery on it... it doesn't fit (I decide to just use it on a different piece of machinery) and it also won't be still. So, with me being all about fixing stuff, I go about troubleshooting why it won't be still. I find that I didn't put the leveling feet down. Ok, not so difficult, right? WRONG! One of the leveling feet is stuck in the ascended position. I try different tools (some of which I go out to purchase) to get this foot to descend but still no such luck. So I get on the Bora website and contact customer service about the matter. They were pleasant enough and asked that I send pictures. I did as they asked and then I guess my matter got lost along the way so I called them. They apologized and said they would send me the leveling foot right out! Great, I thought to myself. No harm, no foul! But when I open the package they sent, I find new hardware and a new corner bracket but NO NEW LEVELING FOOT! For this mobile base to be so expensive, this should not be a problem in the first place but humans error happens. But when you email and speak over the phone with a customer service rep and get sent everything in the pictures except what you contacted them about it's just plain aggravating. I emailed them, again. I put pics of what I received in the email. Hello People!! #longpost #longpostalert How you been? I am at my maa's place for a little break ..which turned out to be a long 10 days break. I have been consciously over eating here and enjoying wearing her sarees. I have been missing her since January, so yeh break banta ha .. ♥️ The perks of being at maa ke ghar is not only eating good food but also wearing her beautiful sarees, which I totally adore. I was able to wear a few of her sarees for three important and intimate family functions. Before the day ends, let me share the beautiful sarees I wore for celebrating Handloom day !! . Images - 1,2,3 is hand woven cotton bengali tant saree with beautiful Resham work all over the saree along with a beautiful border. Paired it with a maroon and orange blouse and multicolored beads neck piece ma got for me a few yrs back. . Images - 4,5 is a very beautiful Raw Silk Saree With Khadi Weaving Pallu With Tassels.Topping on the cake is the fantastic Khadi Temple Weaving Border. Paired it with a beautiful orange hand loom blouse from different saree I got from @south_4u. (My purchase of Handloom saree online). Same multicolored neck piece along with a green thewa neck piece for a house party. . Images - 6,7,8,9 is again a hand woven cotton bengali tant saree with beautiful Resham and Zari work all over the saree the pallu is my most favorite part along with a beautiful border. Paired it with a red crop top and pearl neck piece, which ma got for me from Hyderabad. . Image -10 a simple organza saree I bought for ma from my first salary paired it with the a hand block printed grey and black blouse. . This is going to be my most favorite write up…. #longpostalert Most of the time, in life, we put in a lot of effort and focus on something, and then, are shattered by the results. Why?? Expectations!!! I did a lot of research on this, experimented on myself and finally got time to publish this. Imagine doing something without relishing the joy of doing it, but being very keen on the outcome. This is where things fail and we are burdened by the Karma or task while expecting a lot from the outcome. You must never get attached to inaction saying “why should I do something when I don’t own the Karmaphala?” You ask, where is the motivation? In simple words, you must be motivated by the goal, not the outcome. Goal and outcome are completely different entities. It is well understood when you sit in a quiet place and calmly ponder over it. #longpostalert So listen... I lived in Norfolk for almost a decade and some of my closest friends are in the 7 Cities. I have a truth teller/best friend who knows everything about me and hasn’t once flaked on me. She is the definition of loyal. She prays for me and encourages me through my struggles (and there have been plenty of struggles); she laughs with me when I’m being my craziest. I moved back to Richmond in 2012; my best friend @holmesshawna lives in Newport News. She calls me and says she’s on her way to Richmond to go to her old job “real quick”. #LongPostAlert See...here is MY concern regarding the CHURCH during this most critical time... How many "Christians" are sitting at home RIGHT NOW with "bread enough and to spare" concerning things like toilet paper, sanitizer, disinfectants, and other needed commodities while others are in need of these items?? How many "Christians" are REACHING OUT to those in need to SHARE of what they have OR are they simply HOARDING to boast & brag about how much they have during this critical shortage?? How many "Christians" are going out of their way to make sure someone else that is WITHOUT ends up being someone WITH because they have opened up of their ABUNDANCE WITHIN to meet a NEED?? While the CHURCH-HOUSES are closed or modified for attendance tomorrow, how many will step up to be THE CHURCH to accomplish the WILL of CHRIST in such a time like this?? See, the reason I kept placing quotations around the word "Christians" above is because too many have gotten it ALL mixed up!! TRUE CHRISTIANS aren't based in the CHURCH!! TRUE CHRISTIANS are based in CHRIST!! That means to take on HIS MIND and HIS HEART in the way things are done in daily living!! Therefore, if you KNOW of someone that doesn't have something that is needed and you have an abundance of...why haven't you arranged to make sure they at least have SOME also?? That's why I am not as crazy about CHURCH as I once was!! I have LEARNED to be more passionate about CHRIST and exercising what I have learned of HIM, in HIM, and from HIM in how I live my life from day to day!! Oh...one more thing...when you are finally compelled to DO for someone else in need, KEEP THE CAMERA OFF!! As long as GOD sees it, that's all that matters!!
