Dear scholars, help, I am going insane. I am planning a trip to Manchester and of course I want to visit all the historic sites, including the place where Noel and Liam were born. Paul's book gives us the address 2 Sandycroft Street in Longsight and the fact that the house was demolished sometime in the early 70s. However, I fail to find a Sandycroft Street anywhere in Longsight and I am starting to lose my mind here. I vaguely remember an interview with Noel where he said what kind of buildings where built there instead now. Can you help me?

Gorton and Denton By-Election Feb 2026

For the upcoming Gorton and Denton by-election, I will not be standing as a candidate.

A difficult decision, but the choice comes from a clear sense of responsibility to the residents who elected me in 2024. Since taking my seat in Longsight, I have worked tirelessly to make a real difference and that work will continue.

I believe it is vital not to split the vote on the left. I grew up as a Mancunian in a community where people of all backgrounds, races and religions lived side by side in harmony. That unity matters now more than ever.

Sometimes, leadership demands difficult choices in the service of the greater good. That is why I am putting the people of Gorton and Denton first and calling on the left to unite decisively to stop the far right from taking this seat.

I am humbled by the overwhelming number of residents across the constituency who urged me to stand. I Will continue to serve as your councillor in Longsight, while also supporting the residents of Gorton and Denton, remaining present, active and focused on getting things done.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and trusted me to represent our community.

My OC Longsight for the @parahumanzine . Sucks that we weren't able to publish a whole zine this time around, hopefully next time though! I had a ton of fun making Longsigt here.
