Collab with @c0mmanderfarron! We decided a while back that we'd do more Oricorio, because Oricorio is such a wonderful bird that it deserves a variation for each type. Except Flying and Normal, that is. Excluding the pre-existing types, we had six formerly "physical" ones left and six formerly "special" (Fairy is post-split, okay, but totally special, shut up ).  So I took up the "special" ones and Reve did the physical ones! Speaking of, check out her variations here! They are amazing, obviously. Inspiration behind mine: Hula Style => Classic Hawaiian dance (seriously, why doesn't this exist?) Synchro Style => Synchronised swimming, which is a type of dance Ice Skate Style => Should be fairly obvious, also a type of dance Longtan Style => The Chinese New Year is celebrated with a massive parade, in which multiple people hold up a majestic snake-like red dragon and dance among the crowd. This was a little difficult to work out, but I'm happy with it overall Waltz Style => Slow nocturnal dance, seemed only appropriate Nutcracker Style => From Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, represented in the Disney animated movie Fantasia (original 1940 edition) as a ballet centered around fae-like spirits of the seasons, dancing in the fields or leaves or on frozen bodies of water Hope you enjoy!

At the height of the Japanese Colonial Era (1895-1945) there were over seventy Butokuden's (Martial Arts Training Centres) throughout Taiwan.

The purpose of these places was to promote Japanese martial arts but also Japanese nationalism. It shouldn't be a surprise then that when the KMT fled to Taiwan that they destroyed the majority of these buildings.

Today there are only thirteen left remaining in Taiwan.

You can now find Butokuden's in many countries throughout the world where Japanese style martial arts are practiced. Here in Taiwan though, they are just historic buildings that are either decaying or have been repurposed.

One day Deshan kept asking Longtan for instruction till nightfall. Longtan finally said, "The night is late. Why don't you go to bed." Deshan thanked him, made his bows, raised the door curtain and left. Seeing how dark the night was, he turned back and said, "It's pitch black outside." Longtan lit a lantern and handed it to Deshan. Just as Deshan reached for it, Longtan blew it out. At that Deshan came to sudden realization and made a deep bow. Longtan asked, "What have you realized?" Deshan replied, "From now on, I will not doubt the words of the old master who is renowned everywhere under the sun." The following day Longtan ascended the rostrum and declared, "There is a man among you whose fangs are like trees of swords and whose mouth is like a bowl of blood. Strike him and he won't turn his head. Someday he will settle on the top of an isolated peak and establish my way there." Deshan brought his sutra commentaries and notes to the front of the hall, held up a torch and said, "Even if you have exhausted abstruse doctrine, it is like placing a hair in vast space. Even if you have learned the vital points of all the truths in the world, it is like a drop of water thrown into a big ravine." He then burned all his commentaries and notes. After making his bows, he left.
