Normally, it takes 40 minutes from Longyang Road underground station to the Pudong International airport. But, by taking maglev train, it only costs 15 minutes. So, that's the pure speed. Regarding the technology (magnetic levitation), it comes from Germany. But, the cost of building it is too high. That's why it is not widely accepted.
