I wish

I wish I were a bear, Eating salmon all day, Eating the berries away, Sleeping through the winter without a care, I wish I were a bear.

I wish I could start a fight, Breaking a few fists, Breaking a few wrists, Always believing I’m right, I wish I could start a fight.

I wish I would fall in love, Being held in someone’s arms, Being kissed in darkened barns, Flying through the sky like a dove, I wish I would fall in love.

I wish I stayed in bed, Not caring about the day being wasted, Not caring about the things I never tasted, Only having the thoughts in my head, I wished I stayed in bed.

I wish I had stories to tell, Ones that didn’t break the heart, Ones that ended like they start, Stories that sounded like a bell, I wish I had stories to tell.

I wish for a life of my own, A life thats all mine, A life that didn’t follow a twine, But for all the setting sun, What has wishing ever done?
