🎵 Dum Dum Dum Dum, Dumdum Dumdum, Can't Touch This! 🎵 . Can't touch this indeed! This is always a contentious topic, but we have always stood firm on our position. But why, what's the big deal? 🤔 . 1️⃣ Reason 1: we are clumsy and gross. Even gentle touch can be damaging to some animals, like corals, ruining years of their growth. Also we can carry diseases on our fingers, or transfer sunscreen / cosmetics' chemicals, potentially deadly to marine life. . 2️⃣ Reason 2: we are not so difficult to harm as well. Unless you are an expert marine biologist, you DON'T KNOW all the dangerous species you might encounter. And the underwater arsenal of spikes, hooks, stings, bites, venoms and poisons truly knows no limits. So it's in you're best interest to touch your diving buddy only, if you really have to. Though they might bite as well. . 3️⃣ Reason 3: there are things you don't even see. Typically marine animals are covered with a thin layer of anti-bacterial mucus, which gets wiped out with every touch, exposing poor critters to diseases and infections. This is particularly crucial for the small fish! . I know it's hard sometimes, especially if some animals are not necessarily big on respecting personal space (turtles, I'm looking at you). But that doesn't change the fact they're not your toys, pets or property 🐩 . Every second spent observing animals in their natural habitat is a privilege, not a right. So if you know something might potentially harm them... then there's no excuse for doing it 😏 . 👉 Follow @freshnsaltyeco to get a clue in the blue! Fungi in the New Forest 🍄
Please look, but don't pick fungi.
Autumn is also a peak time for fungi. The New Forest is one of the most important sites for fungi in Britain and more than 2,700 different species can be found here. Each autumn they offer up weird and wonderful displays of colour, patterns and shapes and are extremely photogenic.
Often thought of as plants, fungi are viewed by many as closer to animals given their unique way of growing and absorbing food and water from their surroundings rather than making their own using energy from sunlight.
Fungi play a vital role in the health of the forest. Many fungi live on the roots of trees and other plants helping these to absorb more nutrients. In fact, many trees grow less well without fungi. As well as being essential rotters and recyclers, fungi also provide food for some animals and are vital to many invertebrates to enable them to complete their life cycles.
Given this importance of fungi to the rest of the forest we ask that if you are out and about, please to enjoy looking at them but leave them in the ground for others to enjoy. A number of the fungi in the forest are poisonous and some are so rare and vulnerable they’re included in the protected species list making it illegal to pick them – even for scientific reasons.

Sometimes I go to far. Or I imagine beyond my capabilities. Often. Took me a while to see what I needed to. The form or skeleton is what I needed. So by providing it I can decorate it with color and light appropriately. Thank god for reality. The rules. They keep us safe. They keep things secret. #learnsecrets #secretlearning #shhh #private #lookdonttouch #behindtheveil #mifsudvisions LAST DAY TO SHARE ANY OF MY ART WITH THE TAG #MIFSUDMANIA FOR A CHANCE TO WIN SOME FREE ARTWORKS!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx-XWSFhl_6/?igshid=1cw5yfgb29iir
