Loon!Shane (Shoon) AU Looniverse #loonposting Masterlist, Part 1
(finally! sorry for the delays!)
An attempt to round up all the posts about Shane Hollander in the form of a loon.
(please note all post time stamps are in my local time, which is currently Newfoundland Daylight Time (UTC -02:30) so they probably won’t line up with the time of posting either in the original poster’s time zone or yours, dear Reader. They are just there to establish a timeline.)
According to my research, loon!Shane is to Heated Rivalry AUs what crabs are to evolution. From what I can tell, the idea of Shane in the form of a loon has arisen arguably no less than seven separate times, independent of one another.
The earliest recorded mention of Shane in loon form (that I could find on tumblr) comes from @rabbittush who, after watching Episode 6, was inspired by the exchange, “so now you speak bird, too.” “fluent.” and reblogged a gifset of that moment with the following tags:

Since that date, he’s been posting fairly regularly about their ideas for the story they’re working on, with comments that seem to indicate that he has been doing research, maintains an ever-growing document with said research as well as their ideas, and has extensive lore in mind for the story.

WAIT I FORGOT THIS ONE!!! February 28, 5:57pm: @atevanfool posted this picture of a tattoo of a loon holding a hockey stick in their beak!!
March 9, 9:52am: it’s just so crazy to me how no one’s doing shane as a loon au’s?...
Less than two weeks later, as if brought into existence by rabbittush ‘s wishing, loon!Shane experienced a renaissance, kicked off by a cryptic, three-word post by @shillanov :

Comment from hardlyhinged: Loons actually suck at walking due to the positioning of their legs being so far back so not only would Ilya need to carry Shane around like a dumb baby, but he’d also need to interconnect a line of kiddie pools together throughout the house if Shane is going to get anywhere comfortably by himself (which he insists upon since he is an independent duck)
