1. Favorite fictional couple?
Difficult. Extremely difficult. I tend to fall in and out of love with ships as I fall in and out of series.
However, if we're going to go with the couples that have been the most enduring in my love and continue to endure to this day, it's gonna be an eternal toss-up between Len/Luka from Vocaloids and Alvin/Leia from Tales of Xillia.
Honorable mentions would go to Heisuke/Chizuru from Hakuouki, Jude/Tsunpal from Tales of Xillia, and Kuzuryu/Peko from Dangan Ronpa 2.
2. Favorite fictional character?
Oh no. Another really hard question. This is totally like asking me to play favorites with my children. D:
But...uh...let's say Kino from Kino's Journey. This girl is so interesting to watch as she interacts with all the towns that she travels to and she has such an interesting philosophy on life. I love how she both changes and remains the same over the course of her journey. Also, while she obviously has a tragic past, it doesn't define her entire existence and I positively adore that. She's such an enigmatic character.
Leia is an extremely, EXTREMELY close second with Colette being a slightly more distance third.
5. Favorite fictional villain?
...No seriously, why did I reblog this thing? This is so difficult!
If we're saying pure villain, I'm gonna have to go with The Scorpion from The Devil's Carnival. I always have a soft-spot for villains that are just evil because. No sob story, no tragic past - they are evil because they want to be and they enjoy every minute of it to the fullest. The way this guy acts throughout his section of the story, his tone when he's singing, even something as mundane as his motions; it speaks for how much unbridled joy he is getting out of his tormenting that I can't help but love him.
8. Favorite fictional setting/universe?
Setting is very important to me in shows, so there's no way I can pick one here. Instead, let's go with three: Kino's Journey, Tales of Xillia, and Bokurano.
Kino's Journey is all about examining the different locals and their customs, so I instantly took a liking to all the variety the show provided. It's a super interesting study of interconnectedness and also complete isolation.
Tales of Xillia was a breathing, living world for me. In Rieze Maxia, each town was tailored so uniquely to their setting and particular strengths that each town had a very unique flavor to it, while Elympios was certainly in decline it also provided solutions to similar problems that were wholly unique and telling of their long split history. (Also, don't mention Lobster Dad 'cause that did about everything wrong that it could have with the setting and we don't want to send me on a rant, now do we?)
Bokurano is set in an approximation of the real world only with occasional giant robot battles with children piloting. But you know what the great thing is about it? The children act like children would in this situation; the adults act like adults would in this situation; the military acts like the military would in this situation. It is treated as a real and serious threat and not something blandly awesome. For me, that was what sealed the deal and made me really love this show; yes it's just the real world, but it is actually exploring the implications of giant robot battles to save the world on all people involved which only makes all the heartrending moments all that more poignant.
15. Least favorite fictional pet?
Uhm...this is really difficult because every pet I could think of I either liked or was indiferent towards...wait, can I include Cedric? He is a squeaky voiced owl that follows you around constantly...
Cedric the Owl from King's Quest 5.
