So, as some of those who put their work out there on Ao3 (Archive Of Our Own), you may have taken note of an increasing amount of bot/spam comments stating that the work in question is Ai generated. While I personally view Ai generated works as illegitimate, everyone is allowed their own views on the subject.
I recently, (and by recently I mean like an hour from the making of this little thing) received my very first bot accusation
There have been variations of these little buggers all over the site as of late and of increasingly higher amounts. Personally, I view this as an achievement. That there is someone out there, so pathetic, so petty, so uncreative that they wasted any amount of their life to create the most unconvincing bots imaginable to spam out the same tired drivel, makes me laugh.
Of course, some people aren't laughing. These posts are annoyances at best, and downright heartbreaking at worst. How one views these is wholly dependent on the individual, but I think I can speak for a majority in saying that this shit, ain't cool.
I hope it can be dealt with in a way that doesn't require people to limit which people are allowed to express their views on their work, seeing as these are all guest accounts.
I hope anyone who receives does not take its insipid words to heart and continues to write whatever they wish, for that is what makes Ao3 and fanfictions in general so great.
