The main kingdom of Hyrule is ruled by the good Queen Zelda Artemis and Prince Link (Warriors). Lullaby is their trusted royal guard, one of an elite group of warriors bound by a cloth that prevents most forms of death. Time is a friend (or maybe relative?) to Warriors and one of the army's best knights. Time is married to Malon and the have a few children at this time.
A war breaks out, and Warriors, Artemis, Lullaby, Time, and a young heroic Legend all fight against it. The evil is vanquished and Wars, Artemis, Legend and Malon survive (Lullaby nearly dies but is kept alive by her immortal binding cloth magic). Time, unfortunately, is cursed and killed. At some point after this Malon is turned into a scarecrow, maybe because she knows something about Time's curse and got cursed herself for digging too much into the dark magic that felled her husband.
Warriors and Artemis live out the rest of their lives restoring Hyrule. Legend (a vampire) and Lullaby, literally bound to her duty, are functionality immortal and in it for the long haul. They probably check in with each other now and again. They also keep an eye on Time and Malon's decendents, and Malon's scarecrow is lovingly and reverently passed down the family line. She is mostly still and silent in this form, but if her decendents play her a song, she may still have enough magic to dance...
Many generations later, the kingdom is now ruled by Dusk, Artemis's decendent. Flora is Dusk's cousin, part royalty and part scorceress, and is trying to hone her powers (unsuccessfully) to help the kingdom. Wild is Flora's personal knight at this time and is particularly close with her.
Suddenly, evil breaks out, and a demon king and his monsters ransack Hyrule and Hyrule castle. This takeover is swift, killing Dusk and Wild in the process after they'd both fought fiercely. Flora, as the technical heir to the throne now, is forced into hiding and grief as in just a day, the demon king completely takes over. Using his black magic, he even reconstructs Dusk as a puppet of his own will as further insult. Lullaby acts as Flora's guardian and takes her to a secure location.
Legend returns, much wiser and experienced in fighting darkness. A new fighter also appears: Twilight, a decendent of Time and Malon who recently has been dealing with a bit of lichanthropy. Being a werewolf is a good advantage against the hoards of evil monsters though.
The war is long and drawn out, and while most of the neighboring kingdoms of Woodland, Slimes, Sea, and Sky are spared from major destruction, they are still threatened, and as the war continues the rulers and heroes of these tribes come forth to battle the enemy together (aka they are the Links and Zeldas!) Even the ghosts of past rulers are witnessed lending support (Wars and Artemis).
Flora, meanwhile, has had enough of hiding from Ganon. She has made a breakthrough in her magic, an unexplained surge of confidence when Lullaby is forced to leave her alone to draw monsters away. Flora knows that it is next to impossible to kill Lullaby, but she still refuses to let another person die. Calling upon a deep and ancient magic, she lets loose a desperate plea that the evil monsters die and heroes prevail.
This nonspecific, desperate spell works exactly as intended in the most unexpected of ways. Flora awakens a light spell that takes out nearly half the army, and her plea for heroes seeps deep into the earth, reanimating her beloved knight and reawakening Time and Malon all at once. Dusk, too, feels her consciousness returning, even though she is still a puppet, and uses her new agency to fight against the evil from the inside.
Not long after that, the heroes and leaders break through the castle defenses, and together, they utterly destroy the king of evil. Peace gradually returns to the land, reunions are held, and the kingdom is given a chance to finally mend.
....
Boom! Finito! I apologize for how this absolutely devestates the canon Zelda timeline I just wanted a way for all the undead monsters to make sense--I see a lore puzzle and I am compelled to connect the pieces >_<
Now back to writing the other LU story! (we hope >u<)
Hi Vee <3 I would love to chat about sea captain!mattheo. Where did the idea for this series come from? Are you familiar with places where reader lives, and familiar with sea captain lore or do you do lots of research? I'm just so in love with this series and want to know absolutely everything about it <3

i’m crying over this question because i would love to nerd out on this with you!!!!! also, it feels like a little peek into my soul because there’s a lot of meee entwined in the reader and the story ☺️
this series was inspired completely by the pics (below) plus my utter fascination with the show deadliest catch which is about the INSANE shit that happens on commercial crabbing boats in alaska — it’s one of the most dangerous jobs in the world (the death rate during the main season averages out to nearly one fisherman per week) while the injury rate for crews is nearly 100% due to the severe weather and dangerous conditions 🫢 so naturally it felt tense and angsty and dramatic. real events from an episode of the show inspired the final chapter 🙃
i’ve actually done like hours of research for this fic ngl 🫣 a lot of that will come into play at the very end so stay tuned!! (i’ve also made plenty of stuff up too) but in general i’ve always lived by the ocean and in beach towns and that’s a big part of who i am so i do feel i can tap into that for my writing here.
fun fact: i took one of the header photos from chapter 6 in my home town (the last one on the right) so this fic is quite literally me-core.
