the whole “only the life series winners remember the games outside of the games” has me in a fuckin chokehold, but adding on to that i love the idea that outside of the games when non-winners see certain things they just feel a flash of familiarity but can’t grasp onto why ex: scar seeing lilacs and poppies, martyn seeing red banners before his win etc. the angst possibilities of this hc is massive

"Cold, it's so cold." (And yet somehow, I found peace in it.)
The Corrupted, fallen King awaits on the throne. And it's waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
Now devoid of warmth, he stands alone. Cold, freezing. Selfish, how he finds peace in it.

Just replied to a comment on Ao3 with lore for FRM and thought Tumblr might appreciate it! So, I copy pasted it!
"Ok! So, Imma ramble about pach hierarchy because that's what's the most developed!
At the top of a pack is the Pack Head, which holds the title of Dam, a word I've chosen because it contrasts the word "sire" used among vampires, but also fits the fact that Pack Heads are more like the mother of the pack. Every werewolf in a pack is to be infected by the Dam, as the act of purposely infecting is seen as treason to the pack, it's a power grab, one especially seen in Lead Packs, which are packs that are very powerful and influential in the werewolf community. The Dam has many duties, though their partner tends to help them out. A big part of figuring out pack dynamics in this AU is that I didn't want to use the outdated understand of real wolf pack dynamics that is popular in pop culture, but base it more on my own ideas with references to real wolf pack dynamics. In a real wolf pack, the leader of the pack is that way because they are mom/dad, not because they are strong or inherently an "alpha" so I use that here. The Dam is in charge because they infected everyone, not because they are the strongest.
Below the Pack Head are the Den Keepers and Dream Keepers.
Den Keepers are in charge of taking care of the den, especially the entrance and sleeping quarters. They decide which wolves get the honor of helping out in the den's upkeep, and are highly respected.
Dream Keepers are story tellers and pack historians. They memorize the pack's history and tell the myths and legends of werewolf culture to the younger generation and advise the Pack Head through their knowledge of the past. Werewolves believe in the certainty of change (a common saying among them is "certainty in change, and nothing else" and a popular quote from a piece of literature is "nothing is certain save for death for the damned and brave") and that understanding the causes and effects of that change can help prepare for the changes to come, hence the value placed on Dream Keepers.
Below those two are the 3Hs, Hunters, Howlers and Healers.
Werewolf biology is different from human biology, so even incorporated packs (packs that live among humans) need their own Healers. They are basically what they say on the tin, though incorporated pack Healers have an interesting combination of traditional and modern medicine. (Or, modern for the 19th century) I'm sure Legs would be interested.
Howlers place different importance on duties differently depending on whether or not the pack is incorporated. Howlers carry messages across large distances and are diplomats to other packs, but wild packs focus more on the message carrying and incorporated pack place focus on the diplomacy.
Hunters are basically 2 different roles based on incorporation or not. Wild pack hunters are the food gathers, while they also defend pack territory. Incorporated pack Hunters are more like a pack's elite attack force, working as security and assassins. Incorporated pack Hunters tend to work with the Face in keeping the pack's lycanthropy a secret through, less than legal methods.
Next is an incorporated pack only role, the Face. They help the pack blend into human society, and are entirely human themselves. While Howlers represent the pack among other packs, the Face represents the pack among humans. They pretend to be a normal human family when among normal human families, and act a little more like werewolves when alone with the pack.
Then, there are the Outcasts, which are wolves infected by wolves other than the Dam. They are the bottom of the barrel among packs.
This whole thing doesn't include the secondary hierarchy, which is the hierarchy of form instead of duty. Wolf forms tend to be categorized into 3 forms, Dire Wolves, Regular Wolves and Runts. Dire Wolves are large, while Runts are small and more receptive to werewolf weaknesses like silver and wolfsbane. This secondary hierarchy tends to be more influential among wild packs than incorporated packs, though still is a part of incorporated packs (as seen in the Goldsmith pack)
Then when it comes to packless wolves, you have Lone Wolves (who chose to live alone) and Exiles (who got kicked out) which is seen as worse really depends, as loyalty to the pack is seen as a virtue, so Lones are looked down upon, but depending on the transgression, an Exile can be much worse (pack killers are the worst of the worst)"
Lore drop:
I have already mentioned that I have a spaceship (needs repairs) and that I was on my family’s ship during the freeze (heading back home now). But I haven’t mentioned that I actually live in the broken ship! It’s stuck at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, so getting a mechanic down would be hard, and I’d have to find one who knows how spaceships work!
Also, my ship crashed down here on September 28th of 2023. So I’ve been on earth a while.
