Lore challenge: Where do your dragons live, in the most literal of senses? What is your lair like in terms of where they live (like do they live in houses? in caves? does everyone get their own room?)
Even though it really does clash with being a nature clan, i’m very tempted to have my dragons move to a giant magic floating castle / city at some point and it’s fun to hear what other people think for their own dragons.
LORE PROMPT / CHALLENGE: Are your dragons fond of home-made food or Take-out? Fancy restaurants or humble taverns? Street food or high class dining? Do they eat locally or prefer imported foods?
Lore Challenge: We all know dragons eat food (or, at least I assume a lot of dragons do eat food).
But what, in particular, do your dragons eat for fancy occasions? What do they eat when celebrating something important like a birthday or a holiday? Do they enjoy the baked goods? Or perhaps the rare and exotic soups?
(me rambling about my own lore is below the cut!)
I know that My main clan / lore faction, Clan Ibiliven (and much of the smaller surrounding subfactions), are probably considered adventurous eaters given that they’ll eat anything and everything. That being said, they don’t readily have access to bakeries as well as some dairy products so things like milks, cheeses, and baked goods are actually kind of a hot commodity. The clan gets by, by making do with what they have (and a good bunch of them are really good at cooking for themselves / others since there’s a rich culture of community-based eating), but very few of them have the means and the knowledge on how to make baked goods.
Dreadweight docks is the exception to the rule by virtue of being a high-traffic trading hub, so the dragons there are like “... you think milk’s cool and yet you eat literal snakes and rats?”.
Show up and hand out cookies at clan ibiliven and most of the dragons who haven’t moved in within the last couple of years will loose their minds after eating them.
Lore challenge: How well can the dragons in your clan work on group projects? Who is the best, who is the worst? Who is that one dragon in your lair that gets shunned because they just coast on everyone else’s good work
Personally, I view the Devildom as the main circle of hell, but I believe there are lower levels as well.
What's your take on the set up of the Devildom?
I think we've talked about this before, but I like to believe all religions are true in the OM! universe, but in the sense that there are different layers/realms within each!
Devildom is the tippy top of it's realm and thus the most organized, things get more chaotic as you go downwards in a realm.
Including the realms crossing over a little bit deep down. Too far down and you might stumble into one of Hades' teatime chambers.
My clan is very religious and superstitious! A lot of my clan is very devoted to the Icewarden, and are extra devoted to fighting the shade ever since Leviathan was freed from being shadetouched.
In my clan, exalting is death and the dragons spirit goes on to fight the shade and serve the Icewarden. Any sort of death, whether it be from war, sickness, or anything else, is the same. There’s no priority in dragons depending on how they die! The only thing that matters is 1) where you die and 2) where you’re buried.
Some dragons in my clan believe you have to get buried and a priest must say a prayer for you to be exalted, but this is not a universal belief within my clan.
They also believe heavily in witchcraft and the arcane. Tarrot readings and the placements of the stars are extremely important to them. However since Alduin has banned Dibella from using her future sight, a lot of the dragons have stopped getting their fortunes read.
Okay! So! To force myself to write lore, every day I'm going to start going one by one through the dragons in my lair, in order, and posting SOMETHING about them. Even if it's a small blurb, even if ends up looking like a short novel.
And if I fuck up I give each and every one of you permission to show up at my house and punch me in the throat for every day I miss.
