A little animatic teasing my Rise Oc's lore

I kinda hate this but it took me too long not to post.

I finished it like 5 days ago but my editing software was screwing me over so i first managed to throw it together now😭

Behold, Kate: Season 3 edition (S1 version here)

It's basically just Kate but with more Horrors™️/j

Anyways, as you can see it wasn't too difficult to make this edit because not much changed! This design takes place after Varian is redeemed and they start talking/hanging out again. Of course this involves a lot of angst as they're both VERY guilt-ridden for different reasons.

Kate is still dealing with the aftermath of depression and finally getting to go outside again, and on top of that she feels like she can't properly connect with Varian- or more accurately, her subconscious self won't let her.

Also, if you're wondering how on EARTH her dress would be animated, simple answer: Greenscreen overlay ^^ Not sure if TTS does that. If not, and if her dress pattern is too complicated, you could opt for big polka dots instead!

If you noticed, her shoe-wearing position is a lot less awkward than her Season 1 form. This is because she's more used to wearing shoes from the time spent with Varian in season 1, and this season. Also her mother told her to wear shoes more often during the events of season two, which I'll yap about later. (which also has to do with paragraph #2 lol)

The names

(Not me and @ask-the-huntsman waiting for the name reveal tm to happen between our muses so we can finally start writing with Naib and Eli instead of exclusively their alternate universe names... This is terrible just have that heart to heart already its a pain to keep writing huntsman and parasite. Although Naib sorta gets a free pass because he literally does not remember his name (for now) but geez)

(Naib sometimes gets affectionately dubbed wolf for convenience’s sake and Eli uses ‘Hunt’ that his muse saw and liked in a huntsman fic. The other has no clue what he is called and the other got fed up with his name, which, rightly so to be honest)

Mundanes

Lore Preview

The term “mundane” was originally coined by Shadowhunters to differentiate themselves from the ordinary human, which is precisely what a mundane is - human, basic. Powerless and ignorant, or so the rest of the world hopes they remain. Generally speaking, the mundane human is considered a paradox, simultaneously useless and yet the most dangerous creature to exist in the mortal realm due to their sheer ability to bring ruin to anything they find “different”. Their timeline of history with the supernatural world is a map of rises and falls - periods in which the supernatural world was believed in and fought against, and periods in which they refused to believe. Currently, the majority of the mundane world has returned to a state of ignorance. “Magic” and “Creatures” are saved purely for fictional entertainment, and those outliers that believe or try to practice such things are considered… “off”. However, with their steadily developing methods of identification and technology, it is believed that it is only a matter of time before the mundanes wake up again, and history threatens to repeat itself. Mundanes are basic humans.

Right now, they are unaware of supernaturals existing.

Some Mundanes have "The Sight", an awareness of the supernatural. They typically try to hide this.

Mundanes can be Changed into a Vampire or Werewolf, or may Ascend to a Shadowhunter if conditions are right.

They generally can't reproduce with supernaturals. Shadowhunters, Fae (resulting in half-fae), Half-Fae (resulting often in "sighted" humans), and Demons (resulting in warlocks) are the exception.
