"Hey, hey, hey! What's the big idea, you asshole?!" Shintaro rushed to rescue Konoha, his Magnemite, from an attack by a random woman at this park. Can't a guy let his Pokémon float alone for a second without worrying nowadays?

"My idea is that you're letting these beasts stay in this city!" She protests back, a couple rocks on her hand. "I've never trusted these creatures to begin with, but now my store has been destroyed by one of them. I've had enough of them!"

"Well, my Pokémon have nothing to do with that, so screw that! And even if they had done anything to you, you should have called the police, not attacked me like that!"

Sheesh, what a tense situation. If only someone could serve as a mediator between these two...

The taxi on it’s way to district beta stopped sooner than she expected at an innocuous street corner. From what she was aware, the taxi still had some distance to travel before they reached her destination, but her questions were soon answered as the door swung open and a red-haired young man poked his head in from the other side of the vehicle. She had no shortage of complaints, but she was well aware that in her position, there was a time and place for that sort of thing. In order to make the ride to her new home as easy and painless as possible, it was in her best interest to either stay silent, or at most voice a casual, amiable observation if she absolutely must.

“Commoner transportation certainly is convenient...”

Instead, as always, she’d speak her mind. Completely heedless of whoever heard.

The difficulties of being in a strange city that he didn’t know the layout of were wearing him down. He needed someplace quiet...to immerse himself in studies. He needed a library, but he didn’t know where to even start. Eventually, his pride would wear down enough for him to seek the aid of another, a stranger of all people. 

Clearing his throat to catch their attention, Shousetsu would address them in a calm voice. 

     “Pardon my intrusion--are you acquainted with this city very well? If you are...can you help me find a library? It would be foolish of me to neglect my studies during my stay here.”

There was something so pleasant, so very... homely about the premises of the flower festival. Even though Beatrice was a witch mostly using the arts of black magic, there was something very naive and pleasant about the purity of the forest. It reminded her of something, an old memory of a time long since forgotten. Heh... Perhaps even this cruel witch was swayed by mere sentimentality every now and then.

“Hm.... I see that a lot of people have come to experience this magical party... Just some innocent fun, charming...“ she marked, perhaps to herself, perhaps to a male happening to stand next to her. There was a certain gentleness in her tone, even uncharacteristically so “... I hope I will be able to tell Maria about this...“

Well...this certainly wasn’t what he expected. Dying was supposed to be some sort of release from everything, wasn’t it? A chance to just make everything stop so he wouldn’t have to think anymore--wouldn’t have to be anymore. So what was this all supposed to be?

A hand was raised to gently feel his face--Ion’s face. No! This wasn’t fair! Why--why even after was he still in this borrowed form?! A deep well of frustration formed deep in his chest and he let out a loud scream of frustration!

“Why?!”
