maybe she is nervous. never dated anyone before, so meeting family had never been . . . she wouldn't say it was a problem. because it wasn't one in theory. something she never had to worry about however. if they would like her. if they'd get along. if they just didn't like her for some reason out of her control. because these people : she would see them again. hopefully, she'd have them in her life for a very very long time & getting off on the wrong foot wasn't great. a little more silent than usual on the drive over, picking on her nails while watching their surroundings change and nerves only seem to grow when he turn off the main road and drive towards a house, sinking into her seat even more if possible.     ❝   what if they don't like me ?   ❞      never met someone's parents like this. friends' parents, sure. not boyfriends parent. and sister. suck in a deep breath before looking over at him & brows pinch together.

starter : ava chen & alex volkov

there was a giddy energy about the woman as she walked into their abode, immediately lighting the place up with her presence. a soft grunt falls from her lips, as if she were carrying something heavy --- and she was. two medium - sized orange fruits that have a lot to do with the holiday coming up. the photographer didn't say much as she makes her way to the kitchen, setting them down on the counter before going to find @loresode, sat in his home office.

❛ ❛ i got pumpkins. ❜ ❜ ava leans on the doorframe, peering over at alex with a sweet little smile on her face. convincing him to carve pumpkins with her might be a challenge, but stranger things have happened in regards to alex volkov. ❛ ❛ come carve them with me. ❜ ❜

elain enjoys reading to nyx - elain enjoys reading out loud more than she does to herself, because that way, somehow, the images in her head quieten, and she can focus entirely on the story, and then she can pretend they're somehow back at the small cottage and nesta is reading to her at night, and everything is back to the way it should have been.

she often feels guilty for having such a thought in the presence of her nephew.

and also, because elain sees too much of feyre on the small child, she often finds herself lost in nyx's eyes and the curve of his nose that is just like her sister's. but then, the child tugs at her skirts, and she returns to reality, and continues with the book perched atop her lap.

" and so, the small prince said 'how may i escape the evil ogre?' " she likes doing the voices too, recalls their father doing so whenever he read to them, " then, he had an idea 'i shall disguise myself as a tree! that way the oger will not find me'. so the small prince took out a handful of magic dust out of his coats and --" a pause, " ... you seem bored. you really would rather just go play outside, wouldn't you? 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲   ;   Fury emanates power and confidence as she walks the halls of House Wrath's palace. As if she's the real danger there, because she is, but the goddess isn't there to stir up trouble. At least, not now. Not while she and Death have a plan to follow and today is a perfect day to start running it. 

The ball was the perfect opportunity for the twin goddesses to enter the Palace. While her sister is looking for Pride to start her own fun, Fury walks in with enough power to draw attention, but not enough to give away that she's a goddess. She doesn’t want to drag that much attention towards her and it would ruin the plan. Everything was minimally calculated, from the power she is emanating to attract the attention of @loresode​ to the dress carefully thought out with the colors and style of House Wrath, with the addition of a mask that hides the eye area of ​​her face. It would be a perfect match if it were a masquerade ball, but it's not. 

The demons watch her as she passes through the hall. No one dares to approach, they just watch her with curiosity. But no one attracts Fury's attention, no one but the General of the House and the King of Hell across the room. Fury knows that the first phase of her plan to attract his attention will be easily accomplished, and the moment their eyes meet, she smiles. The smile of a woman, a goddess who knew exactly what she was doing.

But then Fury broke the eye contact and turned around, started to walk across the guests. Her power and presence suddenly faded away but that was intentional, so that he wouldn’t find her so easily  ---  let the game begin.

eaten dinner with her dad earlier, spending some hours at her childhood home earlier today. helping him hang up some decoration & some finishing touches before they went home. not time for gifts yet, but still, the pj's she bought a few days ago is now wrapped up neatly under one arm while carrying the tray of cookies over to the livingroom. mugs of hot cocoa on the table, marshmallow & sprinkles put out so they can refill without having to leave their spot : ready to just press play on the movie. and change into pj's. which, looking over at logan, there's a small grin forming while dumping down on the couch next to him after putting the tray down on the table.     ❝   here.   ❞      grin grows while handing the gift over to him, the very green grinch fuzy hoodie and matching pants inside.

knew he was at home right now, but that could change pretty fast. a surprise visit for the holidays. and for all she knew, he might be going home to his family tomorrow or even later tonight. okay, no, actually he might now : know their relationship are a little tense still. point being however, he could have other plans. plans he didn't want to change just because she showed up & the confidence in this entire plan is slowly dwindling out, the closer she comes to his apartment door. key tucked into her jacket pocket again as she pull suitcase down the hallway : heart skipping in her chest as there's a soft knock on the door.

she has often found herself wondering about the night court high lord. everything about him seems a contradiction to everything she's known about the fae, and while elain feels highly intimidated by him still, she cannot help but still feel drawn to him with a certain odd curiosity.

feyre trusts him, elain reminds herself often, feyre trusts him and feyre has always known beast from man. her sister may not know this, but elain would often watch feyre, and from the safe distance of her own mind, she would think that her younger sister was very clever. and if clever feyre trusts the high lord, then it must mean he is not as deceiving as he seems to be.

" did you truly choose it, though ... or was it simply thrust upon you? " she glances up at the high fae, eyes leaving the rosebush she tends to, to focus entirely on him, " sometimes, the worst things that happen to us come because we looked for them. most of the time however, they just arrive because that is simply how our life must be, " her voice sounds rather defeated. if her sister nesta copes with the cauldron's trauma by lashing out, elain copes by simply letting the grief swallow her from time to time, " maybe you want to believe you chose it, because it's easier than admitting fate played a cruel joke on you, " you cannot be ambushed by a wolf if you hunt it down first, would say feyre, " then again, i know not of your past, lord rhysand. i apologize for assuming.
