Wrote this song while eating chicken nuggets. It was nothing serious, I just wanted to have fun.
In short the lyrics are nothing special. It literally about falling in love with an emo girl at a concert.
The song was mixed in a more distorted and dirty way with added reverb to the vocals and instrumentals to make it sound like a very loud concert. I put high emphasis on the drums being heavy, using more bass and compression to get that heavy, distorted sound.
As for the artwork I enlisted the help from an emo friend of mine “Mel” to draw the initial character design for the “emo fox girl”. I then used GPT to add a background. At least I can say it’s “authentic”.
Even though the song is called “Emo Dream” I would not say that’s it falls anywhere in the “Emo” genre. I would personally describe it as “Pop Rock” and “Alt Pop”. The song was written almost as a parody of “Emo” and “Pop Punk” music.
I went heavy on the raspy tenors and “slurred speech” vocal style to emphasize the ridiculousness of this track.
It was genuinely fun to write and record, and yes… the chicken nuggets were good.
