favorite thing about them

i love how loyal he is he becomes friends with kay at 10 because they share a single swiss roll and then he remembers it seven years later. he pretty much threatens to beat phoenix up unless he defends miles. he is SO fucking good i love him so much

least favorite thing about them

i don't even know if there's anything i don't like about him i think he just gets the short shrift way too often in canon. everyone shits on him but really he's in no way the worst of the police especially since like half of them are corrupt as hell!!!!! and he tries so hard!!!!!

honestly i dont really know who i ship with gumshoe? i think he'd be like Fine with maggey but i don't go CRAZY over it or anything. i have heard people ship him with larry which is objectively funny but larry is painfully straight

i am sad to learn that gumshoe is not in the games after aai2 but i like to think he got a better job and stopped being a cop. i think he'd be really fun as like a tour guide or something

unpopular opinion

idk if this is unpopular in fandom or not but i think gumshoe is actually smarter than people give him credit for and just doesn't do the best with being put on the spot. also i think people tend to think that his only friends are phoenix, miles, maya, etc. which is NOT true because in rise from the ashes literally so many people are like happy to see him! and i love the idea of him having a big group of other friends too he deserves it <3

4. what’s your favourite book?

UGH this is such a tough question, I love too many. I'm gonna break the rules and list several I think. I'm a big fan of classic lit; I've reread Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre and similar works more times than I can count. I'm also an avid fan of Agatha Christie novels and Sherlock Holmes stories. As far as books written closer to the modern day, I love the Discworld series and Neil Gaiman's the Ocean at the End of the Lane. I promise I'll read a book from this century at some point.

7. do you cook/bake? what’s the best thing you’ve ever cooked/baked?

I can cook and bake! I'm not the fanciest about it but I'm functional in the kitchen and I think things turn out pretty tasty. I make really good salmon with asparagus and burrito bowls. Baking wise, I have celiac disease so it has to be gluten free, but I've made some killer brownies before.

do you know of any list of literary/historic references in utena? since the whole cantarella scene seems to be related to some 13th century cantarella related death(?) and that's the only thing referred to in the wiki for cantarella,, also i really love reading your thoughts on the whole series!! your page has been a blessing for me as a new fan haha!
