Taking advantage of the gap that has been opened: legendary! Skyfire in tfp universe
Even if it's just everyone reacting to him being starscream's husband
Gosh, everyone would be so shocked and very, very quickly learn to not shit talk Skyfire's wife (including the TFP version) in front of him because he will not tolerate it.
The Autobots would be absolutely confused by Skyfire's taste and assume, privately, the Starscreams must be incredibly different. Optimus would be reminiscing about his own Decepticon first love and sympathize.
The kids would probably be the ones Skyfire spoke to the most about Starscream and he'd find them delightful. He's very used to humans and Earth having, like G1 Skyfire, woken up there and become deeply involved with humanity and helping them rebuild post-Unicron.
He'd probably be more than a little fascinated from a purely academic standpoint of the difference in cyberbiology between them and the cultural development. I think he'd have pretty long, friendly discussions with both Ratchet and Optimus once he gets used to them.
His reactions to the Decepticons would also be fun.
He would be instantly vehemently uncomfortable with the treatment of the Vehicons on both sides as easily replaceable and largely unfeeling.
KOBD he'd actually probably put off a little initially because of his automatic friendliness. These two very closely resemble their alternate universe counterparts. And absolutely no one Autobot associated would touch a medic (or medic assistant) and especially not Mirage's only child. If he didn't get you first, Hound would. Defending yourself being the obvious exception because they aren't completely naive, but there's a large "don't touch" sign hanging over Knock Out.
Skyfire has spoken to both L!Versions of them and largely liked them.
KOBD would both definitely be interested in the gossip of the SkyStar marriage.
Soundwave is very different in many ways from his counterpart, but Skyfire would be largely neutral, given their lack of interaction.
Shockwave would largely have no opinion, much like Predaking.
Dreadwing, he knew personally and there would be a distinct awkwardness to Skyfire interacting with the counterpart of his ex.
Airachnid would be briefly mistaken for Blackarachnia, which would lead to some interesting conversation. They would hate each other, though, and she'd be interested in potential leverage but likely not overtly interested in his presence.
Starscream would be the most dramatic because Skyfire can see the differences but also similarities, and that's his beloved wife, who is Alone. He would be hard pressed to leave Starscream alone, and there would be no hostility from his part. Starscream would probably be very thrown by his spouse and thinking back to his own Jetfire and their falling out. It would be a very intense tension and Skyfire wanting to scoop TFP Starscream up especially when he first hears a "joke" about his relationship with Megatron.
It would be immediate violence if he had to interact with TFP Megatron. Skyfire grew up in a military family and was initially down to serve before his exemption and it would be showing. Legend Magetron and Starscream are genuine friends who mutually respect each other. L!Skyfire would absolutely hate TFP!Megatron for his treatment of all Decepticons and behavior. It would not end pretty because Skyfire is a big military grade shuttle and is of size with Predaking easily. He dwarfs him. Megatron would probably be pretty scathing to Starscream and Skyfire and then have to deal with him.
With the addition of Luke Rae and Obi-Wan Kenobi to the crew of the Starsinger, it’s finally time to make the trip to the Rebellion outpost where Clones are allowed.

“Why do you think they’re set up so far away from everything?” Marral asked his buir as he looked over the galaxy map, tracing the path from Tatooine to the small little no-name planet that the Rebellion was using.
“Probably to keep people like us,” Dusk gestured to himself and his brothers, “from doing something stupid...like trying to free our other brothers.”
“The Galaxy was never very fond of us,” Fox said to Marral from where he was sitting on the floor with Luke on his lap. The toddler had taken to calling Fox, the toddler had taken to calling Fox “Da” which was both adorable, and something that Dusk couldn’t wait to tease Fox endlessly about, when he was in a better mental state.
“I remember,” Marral admitted, “Master tried to hide how bad it was, but-”
Progress! Marral never spoke about his Master, but Kanna had been working with him. He was at a point where he would make little comments here and there...though he never mentioned his Master’s name.
Dusk frowned thoughtfully. Kanna was playing therapist to everyone on the ship who was older than two. Which was everyone who wasn’t Luke or Rhawl. He was overworking her, wasn’t he? Fuck. He needed to do something about that before Fox realized it and murdered him.
He tuned back into the conversation, “Anyway, ad,” Dusk smiled at his son, “alongside the fact that people didn’t like Clones during the war, the whole Purge fiasco meant that anyone who would join the Rebellion would be even more anti-clone. So, little backwater planet is probably the only place where vod’e would be accepted.”
“That’s not fair. It’s not their fault,” Marral muttered under his breath.
“Most of our lives can be described with that one sentence,” Cody said tiredly from the table where he was trying to coax Rhawl into drinking his juice. “Did Senator Organa mention who would be meeting us?”
“Just that they would be happy to see us.” Dusk said with a shake of his head, “I believe him, in this case.”
“You’d believe him anyway,” Kanna piped up from the couch. He thought she was asleep, based on how she had been laying on her side, but he supposed she was just watching Luke play.
“I mean, you’re not exactly wrong. But Bail’s never lied to me before-”
“Oh, so he’s Bail now?” Fox interrupted.
Dusk’s face burned red, and Marral laughed at his buir, “I haven’t once teased you about sharing a room with Kanna-”
“That’s literally the first thing you did after not seeing me for two years,” He countered drily, “But I suppose that was the only time, so I’ll give you a reprieve.”
“Thank you,” Dusk sighed, and rubbed his face with his hands, trying to encourage the blush to go away, “Anyway, supposedly we’re expected.”
“Are they just expecting clones, or do they know that there are Jedi on board as well?” Obi-Wan asked from his spot near the door, Yin was currently wrapped around him, and she had confided in Dusk that he was going to be her teacher in a couple of years.
“I’m sure he mentioned that we had a Jedi healer, if nothing else.” Dusk answered, “But honestly, we’re kind of going in blind.”
Beesix’s voice came over the intercom then, “Excuse me, various fleshlings-”
“Fleshlings?” Cody asked under his breath.
“We are about to set down on the planets surface. The outpost is rather small, there can’t be more than a dozen people living here.” Bee continued.
“Thanks Bee. Did you let them know that we’re landing, or did you just do it?” Dusk asked.
“I thought we might surprise them,” Bee replied, sarcasm lacing his voice, “Of course I warned them.” The intercom died just as suddenly as it crackled to life.
“Where did you say you found Bee again?” Fox asked, amused.
“I stole him from the Hutt cartel,” Dusk admitted, “He came like this.”
“I like him.” Obi-Wan said, “He’s got personality.”
Dusk rolled his eyes, “Yeah, yeah. Just like everyone else in my life.” He closed the galaxy map, “Come on, let’s go see who, exactly, we’re helping.”
*******
Two years. It had been two years since the Purge that should have killed her. Two years since the massacre that killed her entire family, and ripped the rest of them away from her.
At least she still had Rex, though he was more tired, and more sad, than he ever was when she was younger. Even in the height of the Clone Wars. And Wolffe was here too, though he refused to so much as look at her.
Ahsoka Tano was 19 years old, and she mourned.
She mourned her Master, who, she was sure, died doing something heroic. She mourned her grandmaster, who died without realizing that he was in danger. She mourned the Jedi, so many who died at the hands of the men they trusted most. But she never shed a tear, not for any of them. She couldn’t risk it.
She felt alone. So very alone.
Even with Rex and Wolffe here, she still felt alone. And she felt helpless.
Still, when Rex mentioned that they were getting some more Clone recruits for the Rebellion, she was hopeful. She thought about all of her brothers, and all of the ones she knew were still alive, and she hoped.
She knew that Rex didn’t.
So when the ship landed on the outskirts of the Outpost, Ahsoka didn’t even hesitate to join Rex and Wolffe as the welcoming committee.
The first man off the ship was obviously a clone, though his hair was long enough that it couldn’t have been regulation. Ahsoka didn’t recognize him, which meant he wasn’t 501st or 212th. And he was, curiously enough, trailed by two children, and he was carrying a third.
The next people off the ship were a red-headed Miralukan woman, a woman Ahsoka recognized from her time at the temple. She couldn’t remember her name, but she did remember that she was Master Vokara’s apprentice. She had a tiny child in her arms, and at her side was another clone, he also wasn’t familiar. Like the first clone, his hair wasn’t anywhere near a regulation cut, hanging loosely around his ears. She wondered what he had been through, though, as his hair was clearly greying.
Rex had headed towards the ship as soon as he saw the first clone, and he was now hugging him tightly, the Wookie child squished between their chests, though judging by the happy Wookie noises that Ahsoka heard, the child was thrilled at this development.
Ahsoka turned to make a joke towards Wolffe, but Wolffe had all but sprinted towards the greying man, and they were hugging tightly.
And then the next group of people stepped off the ship, and Ahsoka was moving before she realized it.
A warm smile, kind eyes, and a welcome hug.
She curled herself into her Grandmaster, and, for the first time in two years, she broke down sobbing like she was a child again.
*****
The emotional welcome was surprising, it was good. Dusk honestly never thought that he would see Rex again. Best case scenario, he was dead. Worse case, he was like Cody and stuck in Vader’s 501st.
But his vod was here. And not just Rex, Wolffe was here too, though he had plastered himself to Fox’s side. And since Fox dealt with complicated emotions by wrapping himself around Kanna and Luke, it meant that Wolffe was also attached to Kanna’s side.
She didn’t seem to mind, as she was cheerfully chatting with Ahsoka Tano, who was still curled up on Obi-Wan’s lap, like she was a child again. She seemed to forget who she was supposed to be comforting though, as she alternated from patting Fox on the cheek, to patting Wolffe on the knee, to lightly patting Ahsoka’s hand.
“I can’t believe you’re alive,” Rex said, he was sitting across from Dusk, while they watched the kids play in a sitting area, “I mean, I kind of assumed that you had been killed by Palpatine. Fox too, for that matter.”
“My chip never activated, but I managed to play pretend long enough to get out of the Corrie Barracks and to the Temple,” Dusk shook his head, “I stumbled right into the Purge. It was a shit show, Rex.”
“Sounds like it,” Rex shook his head again, and then he glanced at Cody, “And did your chip malfunction too?” He asked his ori’vod.
Cody grimaced, “It worked. I had my ass beat by our vod’ika here, and he stole me from right under Vader’s nonexistent nose. His droid,” He nodded to Bee, who was minding the children, “removed the chip, and he offered me a place on his ship.”
“Like I was going to kick you out,” Dusk scoffed as he leaned back in his chair. “How’d you get involved in the Rebellion?”
“Eh, I’m all for liberty for the galaxy,” Rex admitted, “But I’m mostly for liberating our vod’e. Wolffe and Gregor are too.” He nodded to Gregor, who was sitting next to Ahsoka, listening to Kanna speak.
“I can get behind that,” Cody murmured, “Miss them like a missing limb sometimes.”
“Do you have a plan?” Dusk asked, after taking a moment to bump his shoulder against Cody’s.
“...I was kind of hoping that Cody would handle the planning.” Rex said sheepishly, “My plans are very Skywalker like.”
Dusk grinned, “And you call me the irresponsible vod’ika,”
“Did you have a plan for rescuing Cody?” Rex accused.
“Yup. Go in. Kick his ass. Steal him. And it worked.” Dusk replied smugly.
“That was an arguably terrible plan,” Cody pointed out, “Between Me, Fox, Wolffe, and General Kenobi, we can probably come up with something workable. But, we never had any intention of staying in one place.” He added, with a tilt of his head towards Dusk.
“True. The kids need to stay on the move, for their own good. Same with Obi-Wan and Kanna. If Kanna leaves then Fox is going to go with her. Which means I’m adding Wolffe to the ship as well.” Dusk sighed, “Sorry vod.”
“No, it’s fine. Those kids are all force sensitive, right? The more protectors the better.” Rex frowned, “I wish I could go with you, but I’ve gotten pretty good at working solo. Ahsoka-” He glanced at his sister, “She’s probably going to go her own way too.”
“If you can get her to find Jedi, or even just force sensitives, and have them sent here-” Cody murmured thoughtfully, “We’re far enough away from the Core that no one will look here.”
“I’ll see what I can do,” Rex replied. “You’ll stay for a bit though, right?” he sounded a bit anxious, “Being around you all again is doing wonders for my mental health. And I think Ahsoka will shatter if you separate her from Obi-Wan right now.”
Cody and Dusk shared a guilty look, and then they turned to look at Kanna, who was still absently soothing the people around her. She didn’t notice their attention, but Fox did. He tightened his grip around Kanna and scowled at his vod’e.
“He’s noticed that I’m overworking Kanna,” Dusk said mournfully, “I’m fucked.”
Cody patted him on the shoulder, “There, there, Vod. We both know Kanna will do therapy for everyone even if we don’t ask. It’s her love language.”
“Great! That won’t stop Fox from killing me.” Dusk pointed out.
Rex laughed and pushed to his feet, “Unfortunately, we don’t have space enough for you all to stay in the base,” he said apologetically, “So how do you want to do sleeping arrangements?”
“We can sleep on our ship,” Dusk reassured, “Though Wolffe might be joining us,” He added, as he eyed the way the stern man was half leaning against Kanna, and half leaning against Fox.
“Fair enough,” Rex nodded, “We might not have beds for you all, but we have plenty of food,” He turned to the room, “You all can eat here tonight. It’ll be fun.”
As the room devolved into motion, Dusk leaned back in his seat and he looked at his family. They would be alright. Eventually. And then he got to his feet as his children started tugging on his clothes, demanding that he help cook dinner.
Megatron feels "familiar" to them. He's got "good vibes." Megatron is just bluscreening at something so small and fragile, trusting him entirely.
I think caretaking would actually be good for Rodimus, given how he improves when pushed and for caring about others. He would be thrilled by the kids' first colors.
Co-Captain Co-Parent Bonding.
I feel like Cygate would be the ones bonding with Jawbreaker, and I see Whirl having a soft spot for all of them, but maybe being the one taking Twitch flying. The relationship helps ease tension between him and Megatron.
Rewind and Swerve would be Hashtag's favorite people. I can see her getting dragged into (very willingly) investigations with Nightbeat.
Nightshade would have so much fun with the Science Crew (Simpatico + Nautica). They have like half a dozen science dad/moms by the time this is done. Because then we get adventurers Anode and Lug and Wheeljack calling and seeing a whole baby behind Perceptor.
Thunderclash is there, and I see them being delighted by each other.
Ravage has grandchildren know and is going to make sure they are raised right.
Minimus, meanwhile, is one of the two people on the ship who has a sibling and is actually able to navigate this unique relationship with them, making him a pretty big important person for them for advice and dealing with any tensions.
Rung is never forgotten by the kids who see him.
Exactly and everyone's just got "???????" vibes going on because this is Megatron these newbuilds are cuddling up to. I'm imagining the hilarious image of one or so of the kids sleeping on Megs and he dares not to move lest he wake them up (probably a very young Twitch), and that works both for here and for regular earthspark
I'm just getting the vibe these kids feel younger than most hotspot newbuilds do, juuuust a hunch
Co-captain co-parenting indeed
Dare I say it pushes them closer
Oooo on JB and cygate, especially since full on cygate doesn't teeeechnically enter the picture until later in canon, giving me the hilarious image of Jawbreaker calling Cyclonus mom and Taily dad (Swerve lets the kids watch earth cartoons) and somewhat awkward but wholesome consequences ensue
Awwww on Whirl bonding with Twitch yes yes, perhaps foreshadowing can occur regarding future scraplet baby Sparky
Also ssuddhfh on Whirl and Megatron /trying/ to play nice for Twitch. Glaring will occur.
Yessss on # having fun with Rewind, Swerve, and Nightbeat. I in general see a lot of Hashtag tapping in on movie night, and the idea of Nightbeat doing his detective thing and Hashtag trailing behind him is hilarious
Nightshade over here is playing collect a parent: advanced edition because they're seriously loving just how much companionship they can find among the Lost Light scientists.
I in general feel like Anode will take quite an interesting in the kids' story
I'm getting the image of the kids absolutely getting along with Thunderclash and all Roddie can think is "damn it, them too?!?"
Ravage will exactly raise them right if it's the last thing he does. Which it may or may not be.
Oooo on Mins helping inform them on the whole sibling thing!
They remember him.
They remember that little orange therapist with glasses and kindness, and they always will.
Kedde just certainly doesn't have social abilities.
There will still be more story but I just wanted to post the cameo page today. There's also more info below of who is in which panel and what are they dressed up as and so :U
In the first panel there's La La, Henna and Sven (since he practically seems to have been staying a while with them haha), and they're all dressed as characters from The Fifth Element
In the second one there's Phoenix as Mario and Vaughn as Dave Strider god tier, but it's not really recognizable xP
In the third one THEY'RE A LOT (/shot) There's Steve dressed up as Fix-it-Felix Jr. (bc WiR AU), Rowan's lil head can be seen at the bottom but you can't see his costume, On the other side there's Keith dressed up as Jack Skellington and Kyle is at the botton as Indiana Jones. And waaay in the back there's an angry Roots chasing Kedde
And in the last panel there's Jennifer and Dante, both dressed up as Ranma 1/2
