OC Questions!
Vika:
How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?
Envy— like most of Vika’s emotions— is a largely internal feeling. Outwardly, she’ll be as sweet and kind as she always is, but inwardly, she’ll likely be experiencing a quiet sort of pain or even anger, and she might even start withdrawing from whatever’s causing it— spending more time alone or with her family.
What memory do they revisit the most often?
Probably that first hangout with the whole gang at John and Juliet’s engagement “party” 🥹 She was so nervous to meet these new people, not to mention the guy her best friend has been in turns gushing over and worried about for the better part of two to three years, but it was the beginning of a wonderful friendship— not just with Val and Olive and the boys, who she hadn’t yet met, but also with Benny, who soon becomes one of her best friends.
Jules:
How easy is it for your character to laugh?
Soooo so easy 🤭she manages to keep a straight face most of the time around her students, but she’s been known to let a little ladylike chuckle slip out every once in a while. And if she’s with her friends or family? Girlie’s giggling constantly. She finds it easy to find the joy in life, especially after the war.
How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)?
Jules usually expresses jealousy as passive aggression— she’s never outright rude, but there’s plenty of backhanded compliments and the like. She finds ways to express it indirectly.

What inspired you to create them?
Actually, if I’m remembering correctly it was my besties @winniemaywebber and @blakelysco-pilot! Both Winnie and G had come up with their lovely OCs Jean Crosby and Josephine Harris, and while I had been toying with a generic “Mrs. Brady OC”, those girlies inspired me to actually make her more of a concrete character, and thus, Juliet Thompson was born!
As for Vika, I thought Benny deserved a girl after what goes down with Winnie’s OC Olive (👀), and having accidentally drawn on my dad’s upstate NY roots for Juliet’s character— and, to be perfectly honest, having noticed how, uh… pale… the general MOTA OC’s were, I thought it might be fun to turn instead to my mom’s Indian roots for Benny’s mystery girl— and that became my darling Vika Patel!
Are they someone you would get along with?
Absolutely! Honestly, Juliet (as my very first OC) is veryyy much based on me, and I honestly feel like we’d have the best time just yapping away about books 🤭 And Vika! As shy as she is, I’m sure we’d be able to bond over our shared Indian roots 🥹
