Have these people also conveniently forgotten how many far-right leaders across the world Trump has empowered? How difficult it's been for people in those countries? These so-called 'champions of the global south' really do not seem interested in engaging with the material reality of the global south, and I say that as someone whose family is from one of those countries. It is some of the most arrogant thinking I've ever seen, no wonder they have to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to convince themselves they're not just fucking everyone over for a sham of "morals".
