Lou Zhu asked Zuo Yunqi to help him practice how to flirt to fish information from Tan Qinghuan but if look deeply in this scene, Lou Zhu is actually testing if Zuo Yunqi like him romantically while Zuo Yunqi pretend to be indifferent to hide his true feelings.

Scene is from Episode 14: Impostor (part 2)/第十四期·冒牌（二）of audio drama and it supposed to happen in You Yao donghua s2 ep 19 but not included because censorship? I just want to share how funny they are in the original material. If Book Lou Zhu is a schemer, Book Zuo Yunqi is a liar. What a perfect match. This scene also possibly implied Lou Zhu became entranced at Zuo Yunqi's looks in 1st arc so he was fooled easily by Zuo Yunqi but not aware of it until later because where on earth did he get idea that beauties will make smart people dumber lol It definitely based from experience.

A very haunting scene that shows Lou Zhu's true colors. Just imagine, instead of romantic fireworks. Lou Zhu's background while saving Yunqi is people killing each other, red light from flame arrows, smokes left by bombs and trees on fire. To make it worse, Lou Zhu look like he planned this from get go and Zuo Yunqi was left in the dark.

Zuo Yunqi listened to the shouts of people wanting to kill him behind his back and ran away without paying attention to anything else. Just as he getting some distance away, a burning arrow suddenly flew past his ear! Zuo Yunqi was so frightened that he suddenly raised his hand and tore off his mask, and shouted with all his might. "I'm here! I'm here!!" Then he heard some whooshing sound, and flaming arrows shot at him from all directions like locusts, but he tried his best to dodge it. Zuo Yunqi ran and avoid it, and the pursuers behind him screamed miserably. Somewhere in the distance, a flickering fire lit up among the trees. Zuo Yunqi looked up and squinted, only to see a group of people dressed in martial arts clothes approaching with torches and weapons in hand. The man in front was riding a horse with reins loosely held, and he looked particularly familiar. After an unknown amount of time, the sound of horses stopped in front of him. Lou Zhu dismounted, looked down at him and asked, "Are you still alive?" Zuo Yunqi replied, "For now, only 2 or 3 breaths left." Zuo Yunqi was carried on a stretcher and said slowly, "Don't pursue them. They have... biochemical weapons inside." The Wulin Alliance seemed to have been planning for a long time to turn the tables. They have so much equipment ready out of nowhere, and their actions were very organized. The pursuers have retreated back to the cave but the exchanges of arrows continued, creating a magnificent meteor shower towards the Tuo Huang's base. The flames licked half of the mountain, turning the full moon into bloody red sky, and combined with the fire Zuo Yunqi has set in cave earlier. With the faint sound of miserable howls, it seemed as if they formed an endless red lotus fire. Zuo Yunqi lose consciousness, squinting at the bloody scene that seemed to be a massacre in the sky.

The Audio Drama actually did a great job adapting the scene. That part is free so check it out in missevan. I made this with MTL for myself with donghua screenshots so its easy to know what part of the story it happened. I love that Lou Zhu sounds like he really care about Zuo Yunqi in the AD but seem heartless in this scene of the novel because he DO care but you only realized that at the end of main story.

My roller coaster reaction as I get to know Lou Zhu as character. He's such a morally gray dynamic character. Lol he's funny > He feel sad about his fellow transmigrators but can't do anything about it. I feel bad for him. The emperor sucks. > A tsundere? He's cute! > What? He's a hedonist two-faced scheming bastard? Opportunist too who only care what benefit him! > A bad person alright! Definitely a villain! > Despite that, he still has vulnerable side and can't solve everything > Oh? His concern to Zuo Yunqi is actually real. He truly care about Zuo Yunqi. He support Zuo Yunqi's dream to be a hero! Awww.... I like him now. > Awww! He's fine with long distance relationship? Forever separated but love each other faithfully

The inspiration why Zuo Yunqi became Lou Zhu's bodyguard in the donghua even though he's just a tenant in Lou Zhu's Best Tower in the book version.

In the book, it stated that Lou Zhu realized Zuo Yunqi is staring at him in this scene and he find it funny so he approach Zuo Yunqi to tease him but in the audio drama, its from Zuo Yunqi's perspective.

Zuo Yunqi tried to hide that he don't want Lou Zhu to return to his original world but still failed lol

Observant Lou Zhu found out Zuo Yunqi likes him when Zuo Yunqi start talking about true love out of nowhere. Being an opportunist, he pretends he's a weak man and claimed he need protection even if he don't expect Zuo Yunqi to protect him perfectly.

It suppose to happened in Donghua season 2 episode 19 after they buried Tan Qinghuan. Donghua didn't include it because of censorship.

According to Lou Zhu's perspective, he didn't get any answer from Zuo Yunqi in this scene but its so obvious that this is Zuo Yunqi's indirect confession. Guy is just too shy and hard on himself.

I have a realization. I think Lou Zhu will probably never let his guard down and LouZuo wil not become close if Zuo Yunqi never faked being a transmigrator. Sure, Lin Kai is hLou Zhu's bestfriend despite being a native but I think they are just using each other. Lou Zhu mentioned that he only befriend Lin Kai as a backup backer just in case the emperor ever tried to kill him while Lin Kai is only using Lou Zhu's brain for his own ambition to usurp power. Zuo Yunqi is actually the first one he genuinely enjoyed to chat with without any barrier. After all, Zuo Yunqi is using Lou Zhu's memories. His knowledge as fake transmigrator all came from what Lou Zhu know so he's not just a normal transmigrator. He's a fake transmigrator that closest to Lou Zhu's past life/home. Lou Zhu's weakness and what Lou Zhu miss the most.
