Sherlock doesn't seem to be the best person to ask about the design of kitchen appliances. Have you seen the incredibly clashing wallpaper pattern he lives with? I would hold out for the red one. Because you will only notice the difference more once you get it home.

That's what my brain tells me too. If it wasn't available in red I would not think about that for a second but knowing that I could've gotten a red one instead...

Are you planning on leaving both appliances out?

I have no idea. That really depends on how big my kitchens will be. These appliances will last for the next 30 or so years and I will probably have more than one kitchen in that timeframe. In my current place we don't have the counter space to leave anything out but one day I will have more space and then hopefully I can leave them both out.
