Another thing I really liked about The Batman movie is how true his faults were to Bruce’s overall character. Like Bruce took the of his parents really personally, his pain takes preference over everything else. He is a deeply caring and empathetic man but we clearly see his mission, his inability/refusal to move on from his grief, prevents him from doing anything else as Bruce Wayne.
To him, his pain takes precedence which is why the contrast against Nygma (another orphan only one in significantly worse circumstances) is so important. It makes him wake up and see the bigger picture.
But the thing about flaws, especially deeply ingrained flaws is they don’t go away. We see Bruce clam up and retreat into his own pain a lot in comics! The death of Jason being the biggest most obvious but also the shooting of Jim Gordon, Bane breaking his back, the death of Silver St Cloud and being named her murderer. All times when B is emotionally hurt and he buries himself in it to the point it causes harm to the people around him. Seeing such a consistent character trait being portrayed on screen, it was nice.
