“He’s been asking me all week which classes you’re in so he can talk to you.” Nyota grinned over the table as you sat in the quieter corner of a loud club down town.
“Really?” You asked and she nodded.
“Says you’ve been avoiding him.” She raised an eyebrow questionably.
“I’d say more tactically lowering my chances of him ever talking to me.” You smirked and Uhura laughed.
“We’ll they don’t seem to be working.” She nodded to the door, Jim was practically running over. “Have fun!” Nyota quickly exited the booth and grinned at Jim.
“Hey Kirk.” You muttered as he slid into the seat next opposite you.
“You’ve been avoiding me.” Kirk grinned and you rolled your eyes.
“Not true.” You pushed over your second cocktail to him. “You’ll probably like it.”
“Thanks. But I’d rather take you out.” Kirk pushed the drink back towards you.
“And yet I’ll have to decline.” You pushed the drink back towards him with a smile.
“Come on! I’ve been trying so hard. Which shows that I care. Right?” He complained and you couldn’t help but smile at his pathetic little face.
“I mean yeah. But I still won’t go out with you.” You teased whilst also not being completely sure if you would be against going on a date with Jim Kirk.
“One drink. That’s all I ask and if it’s not working out then we’ll call it a day and be back to friends with an awkward relationship.” Jim laughed and you took a quick shot out of the three that were on your table.
“Need a few more of those.” You grimaced as you took your second and as you reached for the third tequila and lime, Kirk quickly picked it up and downed it.
“Alright then. Let’s do shots together. My treat!” He proposed which seemed better than a drink.
“Alright. You better be able to catch up with me.” You smiled over the pumping music.
But it was Kirk who was holding your hair back as you were sick in a back street a few hours later not the other way around. Once you’d stopped spewing up your guts, you sat on the pavement against a wall.
“You okay?” Kirk asked as he sat next to you and you wiped your mouth.
“Yeah. I’m tired though.” You yawned.
“Fall asleep then. I’ll make sure you get to a bed tonight undisturbed.” He said very seriously but you couldn’t help but drunkenly giggle.
“You would never! You would at least have sex with me first.” You laughed.
“Y/n… I don’t have sex with drunk girls who have just been sick and look like they’re going to collapse. Or any drunk girl really.” Kirk took your hand and rested them on his thigh.
“Really?” You asked.
“Yes. It’s unfair that they won’t remember the fantastic sex they had with me. But I also don’t think it’s fun when one person is more switched on than someone else.” Jim grew more serious the more he spoke.
“I did not know you thought that.” You leant your head on his shoulder.
“I might be ‘Playboy Jim Kirk’. But I still have morals and I’m not a complete dick.” He let go of your hand and put his arm around you. You snuggled up to him and closed your eyes.
“I think I like you more now, Jim Kirk.” You whispered and Jim smiled.
“Does this mean I can take you out again?” He asked hopefully.
“Sure.” You muttered before falling asleep on Jim.
The next morning you found yourself in a bed, but not your own. The room was different too and you didn’t know where you were. But you were sure that this was not anything like your tiny room on campus. Standing up, you were in the same clothes you wore yesterday when you went drinking with Jim. So maybe this was his apartment? Walking out into the corridor, you saw an open door and walked through it. Seeing Jim cooking breakfast at the stove, topless made you feel warm.
“I didn’t want to wake you.” He smiled and you walked over to him.
“Um… how did I make it back here?” You asked cautiously.
“I carried you.” Jim replied as he ate a bit of toast.
“Why?”
“I said that I’d make sure you’d get to a bed undisturbed. I keep my promises so I slept on the couch.” Jim walked around the counter and you saw that he was only wearing his underwear.
“But why didn’t you just wake me up, you didn’t need to carry me.” You muttered and Jim walked over to you.
“Yeah I did. You were flat out, not getting up and I wanted to take you back to mine so I knew you were alright after the amount of shots you did last night.” He laughed and you winced at the loud sound.
“Don’t remind me.” You sat down on the couch and rubbed your temples.
“I did not think you would go for it as much as you did.” Jim turned off the stove and put together a bacon sandwich. Eating at at the counter.
“You’d be surprised. Once someone says shots I am ready to go and ruin my liver in the process.” You smirked. “But you’re hardly a light drinker so why are you fine?”
“I don’t know. But if I’m honest most of the shots we did together I didn’t drink and you had them. I don’t think you remember but I didn’t want to get pissed if you were.” Jim threw a box of anti sickness pills and a bottle of water at you. Gratefully you took two and closed your eyes.
“Thank you, anyway.” You remembered to say.
“It’s alright. But you didn’t need to. I want all my crew and my friends to be as safe as possible. So I was never going to leave you in that bar.” Jim reasoned but you still felt a bit strange that he’d carried you.
“I mean if you did carry me. I apologise for the weight. I haven’t been to the gym since we got back.” You joked.
“You think I couldn’t carry you? I am basically just muscle.” He flexed his arm and touched his bicep. “Rock solid muscle!” He exclaimed.
“I bet.” You muttered. Jim finished his breakfast and sat himself next to you. His leg leaning against yours. He leant back on the couch and put his arms out over the back of it. You reluctantly sat back against the couch again and Jim smirked.
“Come on. Admit it. You like me.” He laughed and you rolled your eyes.
“You wish.” You muttered.
“Don’t you remember saying I could take you out again?” Kirk grinned and tried to stop himself laughing at your confused and worried face.
“I was extremely drunk.” You answered as you didn’t remember anything from last night.
“Well. I can guarantee that you said I could take you out again. Oh and also, you actually said that you like me more now.” Kirk boasted.
“Now that definitely is not true.” You laughed and Kirk looked offended.
“Your drunk ass said it. Not my fault. But you’re not a different person when you’re drunk, being drunk reveals all your secrets.” Jim laughed and you punched his leg.
“Shut up.” You muttered.
“Oh. Wait. Do you like me?” Jim turned to you and you didn’t respond. “No way. I mean. I do like you but I never thought miss 'I’ll run away from Jim so he can’t talk to me’ would have a crush on the Kirk.” He paused. “I guess I truly am irresistible.”
“You wish. This is just a crush. I’ll get over you soon enough.” You lied.
“Sure you will. You are going on a date with me Y/n. Just accept it now because it is definitely going to happen.” Jim put his arm around your shoulders and you sighed. “I’m going to take you in the best date ever.”
“Alright James T Kirk. Bring it on because, I’m going to take you on the best date ever!” You exclaimed with a smile.
“Oh yeah. Sure. Game on!” Jim loudly replied playfully and you laughed, before resting your head on his chest.
