June 11, 2026 | Ahead of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's 50th wedding anniversary, the King has decided to award the Seraphim Medal to the Queen for particularly significant humanitarian efforts over half a century. The King presented the medal to the Queen at a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden, in front of family, and representatives of the court. The Seraphim Medal is Sweden's most prestigious award medal and the world's oldest medal of merit still awarded.
