Love Patchwork and Quilting, Issue 43: I was so thrilled to find out this week that the quilt I made for Love Patchwork and Quilting made the cover of Issue 43! Wow!

This quilt was made with Robert Kaufman “Ten Squares” (10-inch pre-cuts). I used Kona solids (”Overcast,” “Dusk to Dawn” and “Darling Clementine” palettes) and Carolyn Friedlander’s “Carkai” collection. This quilt might seem a little bit familiar if you have been around this blog for a while - because it was based on the quilt that I made for my brother last year. But, the pattern uses pre-cuts to make it fast and easy!

The magazine is on sale now on newsstands in the UK and online, and will be over here in North America in about 4-6 weeks. I haven’t seen it yet in print but looking forward to it!

Wallet Examples: As mentioned, I have a wallet pattern in this month’s Issue 41 of Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine!

As I developed the pattern (back in the spring), I made several prototypes - tweaking each wallet slightly to make improvements each time.  Above are photos of different versions I made!

The first photo is the Kona / Cotton and Steel version - my very first prototype, which I’ve been using as my wallet since May. It has held up very well! I also made versions with Leah Duncan fabric and Carolyn Friendlander fabric - both of which became gifts for friends. The Libs Elliot fabric version for the magazine was the fourth one I made!

It has been fun to experiment with different fabric combinations, and to personalize wallets for friends. I am planning to make a few more before the holidays...

Love Patchwork and Quilting, Issue 41: I am so happy to share that I have a pattern in the latest issue of Love Patchwork and Quilting, released today! I was so surprised and excited to see that my project was actually featured on the cover - what an honour!

This “Neon Flash” wallet has a foundation paper pieced front, and pockets inside for cards and bank notes. It also has a zippered pocket for change on the back! I used Libs Elliott’s True Love fabric for this project - which is so fun and graphic.

I’ll share more of the samples I made while testing this project over the next few days! (You can find the magazine on newsstands in the UK now, or in North America in about a month... or online anytime!)
