Also I think the KP love shield has been taken down? It's not pulling up on the BRF website. If it has been taken down...that's suspicious.

Why suspicious?

Well, the short answer is: of all the issues with the royal websites that need fixing and updating, the KP love shield existing was the most important?

The long answer is the tinhatty answer: the Sussexes' security argument and paparazzi harassment claims originate with the love shield. In fact, the love shield legitimizes Meghan's claims of paparazzi harassment because there's never been any physical evidence of it. Harry and Meghan have only told us she's harassed by the press, but there are no photographs, no videos. I mean, she didn't even post any of her own footage on social media about being followed by paparazzi and Meghan was someone who lived her whole dang life on Instagram. So if the love shield has been taken down, then does that mean the harassment claims were untrue and falsified?

Because it's an official document issued by the palace on behalf of an official senior principal working royal. It's subject to records management requirements. And because it's an official document issued by the palace on behalf of an official senior principal working royal, then if it's untrue and falsified, then could there be consequences to Harry lying?

Consequences like evidence in the RAVEC lawsuit confirming Harry falsified testimony about his security concerns or that he lied about Meghan's paparazzi harassment, which would totally torpedo the lawsuit and could lead to perjury.

Listen, I'm aware how tinhatty this sounds. Most likely, they took the statement down because Harry is no longer an official working royal or no longer represented by Kensington Palace (who issued the statement on Harry's behalf). But other statements / press releases, even ones older than this, are still available and the Harkles are still referenced on the website as members of the BRF. So why take it down?

I also know that if anything were to lead to penalties or consequences for Harry, he won't be held accountable so it doesn't really matter.

You mentioned it in the timeline, but I think it's important to reemphasize that Charles was out of the country when Harry issued the Love Shield. That also became a bit of a pattern until Megxit, with H&M stunts frequently planned when Charles was gone.

I will also add here that because Harry issued the statement while Charles was away, and because rumors of William’s displeasure about the statement, it led to many speculation that had Charles been home, he would have stopped the statement from being released. That speculation becomes more and more plausible when you consider how much Harry and Meghan did while Charles was out of the country.

I wonder why William didn't do it for Catherine back in the day. But Harry did despite the lack of evidence. Was it's because of uncertainty? Because when they put out a message like that, it makes things more official and would warrant people's high expectation.

William did, though. Responsibly. With his brain, not his dick.

First he set Kate up with a direct line to Charles's office that she could call at any time for assistance and help with the press and paparazzi.

Then he asked Clarence House issue a brief statement after Kate's 25th birthday, when 50+ paparazzi waited for her because of significant engagement rumors. And it actually was a statement:

Prince William is very unhappy at the paparazzi harassment of his girlfriend. He wants more than anything for it to stop. Miss Middleton should, like any other private individual, be able to go about her everyday business without this kind of intrusion. The situation is proving unbearable for all those concerned.

Rather than a hysterical rant about privacy because the girl he was fucking said she'd leave him if he didn't publicize their relationship.

The KP love shield is the November 8, 2016, statement that Harry issued via Jason Knauf and the KP communications office. The statement:

Confirmed that Harry was dating Meghan. (It’s also the first time the palace acknowledged anyone’s relationship. Usually the palace doesn’t acknowledge a relationship until the couple is engaged; the company line was always “we don’t comment on private lives.”)

Claimed Meghan was being stalked and harassed by paparazzi reminiscent of Diana and Harry was scared for her life.

Claimed that paparazzi had broken into Meghan’s home in Toronto.

Reported that Meghan was the victim of racist media coverage by the rota and social media trolls.

Note that I use claimed here because neither of those things had ever been confirmed. The Toronto police chief and even one of Meghan’s own neighbors debunked the break-in claim.

The KP love shield set up Meghan’s victim narrative and it is what allowed her to wield her race card far more effectively, forcing the BRF to tread far more carefully than they normally would have in dealing with or handling a girlfriend. And that’s all Meghan was at the time - a girlfriend.

And everyone calls it “love shield” because it’s basically Harry using his love for Meghan to censor and control what the press, public, and his family said or did about Meghan, especially in terms of criticism. It set up the narrative that any criticism = racism, which is why the BRF had to approach this relationship differently.

RTA what is your opinion about the rumors that Daily Mail has a heavy dossier on Rachel but stopped short of publishing it thanks to the love shield released by her current husband?

The latest threat is so unconvincing, she looked uncomfortable as hell. I feel like she answered it in an impulse rather than answering with a plot in mind, the crazy blinking is proof that she was nervous and caught off guard. All these while she was using Harold to push the buttons but she wouldn't dare to do it on her own because once she does it, the BRF will give the green light to release all her dirty skeletons in that big ass cupboard.

Harold looks like he's ready to open his mouth too coz he's not willing to be Just Harry anymore and if that means throwing Rachel under the bus, he'll be okay with it. Looks like Rachel is truly desperate but helpless.

It wasn't the love shield that stopped the dossiers from coming out. It was the BRF clamping down sometime mid-2017 (I feel like it was around Pippa's wedding, but others differ) - probably when Harry started talking about wanting to get The Queen's approval to marry and Meghan started leaking they were already engaged.*

No one thought the relationship had any kind of seriousness until the love shield came out. They thought she was just another girl Harry was spending time with and that she'd be gone in a few weeks like every other girl. But then came the love shield and everything changed. Reporters started digging into her because she was worth the time, attention, and ink now since she was just heartbeats away from being in the family.

*Here's my theory about their engagement. I think Harry proposed as soon he had felt he had a connection with Meghan, probably after their third date in Africa, and it wasn't a very instagrammable kind of proposal. It was a dirty greasy sweaty post-coital proposal. Meghan said yes (because of course she would), it's how Harry fast-tracked a lot of approvals - especially letting her stay at KP as "just" a girlfriend, which we know she did because of the 2016 Remembrance Day papwalk and Harry's recollection in Spare - but when they get actually finally get the approvals to announce their engagement (which I suspect the BRF made them delay until Meghan was done with Suits), Meghan realized it wasn't a cute, romantic proposal story (it didn't even have a ring!) so she planned a redo that Harry "surprised" her with when she moved to the UK. And that's why there's three different stories about how they got engaged. (And how Jess knew to answer the phone when Meghan called mid-proposal.)
