I've been thinking of majoring in botany & i'm wondering what jobs/careers you can get when you are coming out of college? and what is it like?
I’m honestly not sure if this is just a new form of spam messages, or if this is forreal.
In any case, if this is real, I’m not too knowledgeable in botany.
One of my roommates is a botany major and I asked her the other week “What the fuck can you even do after graduation” and she was literally like “the fuck if I know.” She’s looked into the possibilities of plant research, greenhouse attendance, helping non-profit pro-earth organization, or if you’re really ambitious, teach botany classes.
But I’m still in college right now, so I can’t tell you much personally what it’s like to be out.
My advice, just look for opportunities that involve plants. Talk to your professors that teach botany, get on their good side, and they might give you connections for networking for a job or internship. Look for clubs related to plants and botany on your campus and join them to meet people in your field and see where they are. I mean, of course, as a Business major, I’m advocating networking, but really, any field, networking is key in this day no matter the job or field. So just put yourself out there and do what you love!
