I like loving you

It’s 1:20 am and I’m curled under a blanket with you and I’m home. Not the simple home we define by location, but home we as humans only come to understand when we meet the person who makes us realize this is everything we never knew we always needed. You gave me back a heart I swore was unfixable. A laugh that makes me ugly cry in public and that smile you get when I blush that suddenly in that moment makes the world disappear, gone and it’s just us- and this is happiness. This is love. Covering my ears in scary movies and making sure our toes always touch under the covers. The burns I used to hide behind from a past that left me in pieces is nothing more than stories on a burnt out mixtape, shoved in a shoebox and forgotten. This is happiness. This Mike, is love.
