Three years ago today I got to meet the man I'd already fallen in love with.💘 . . I used to make up silly stories of how we met like "I had a flat on route 80 and he pulled over to help me change it," but now I'm fully comfortable telling you we met through a dating website. I was sick and tired of being used by men who weren't interested in a relationship or weren't man enough to commit, and I was never really into the bar scene. I wanted a fully rounded human being who wouldn't try to complete me, because I was already whole. I think my profile read something like "I'm not messing around, only message me if you know who you are and you have something intelligent to share" When Sean messaged me and told me he was a gunsmith, I was intrigued. We started talking and I found out he knew as much (or more) about mythology as I did and he was into punk rock music. We spent about a month in the winter of 2015 falling in love over the phone. If any of you are from the east coast you know that was the worst winter we'd had in years, so snow storm after snow storm kept us from meeting. Finally, after the snow had been plowed on the morning of January 27th, 2015 he came to my apartment at 8 am, I made him a venison omlette, we spent the entire day together, and we started dating that day, because we already loved each other. Three years later, we own a home together, have two beautiful cat children, and we're engaged to be married.The rest is history. *End of mushy musings.* 💓💓💓 . . I  was always the one who never really trusted love. I had plenty of reasons not to. 

It never ended well.

I was always hurt.

I was cheated on.

I was lied to.

I was always second to someone else.

I was never the person someone wanted to be with.

I was always just the friend.

I loved someone I couldnt have.

The list of reasons goes on but the point was I treated love like it was just worst thing ever. I had this huge grudge against it because it never worked for me. In high school I stayed away from it as much as I could. I always told everyone I was happy being single. That was the biggest lie Ive ever told. i wanted love more than anyone. Not just the cheesy typical high school love the real thing. You know the type of love you see in people who've been married for years and years. I didnt want the type of love you see in movies or read about in books. I wanted real love. Love that can only be shared by two people who are just built for each other.  I wanted the type of love where even if you have a huge argument and it looks like all hope is lost he stays and doesnt leave the house. He sits and waits so you can talk it out or have an awkward dinner where you sit there just staring at each other.  I wanted the type of love that distance really was just a temporary thought. it never mattered how far away you were but that you were always a phone call away. I want the type of love that people think will never work, but in reality it does.
