Can you explain to me what a texture is. I'm just a little bit confused thanks :D

A texture is just the word we use to describe images that you layer over the image you're editing and blend them in different ways to achieve different looks.ie. in this 2 part graphic... In the top part the background is a texture. And in the bottom part the background is a couple of textures merged, and then those kinda scratchy white lines is another texture. Does that make sense? Textures are images that "add texture" but they can be anything. People just refer to them as textures because some people create their own textures (by taking photos, drawing, etc) and publish them online for everyone to download and use, in "texture packs." :)
