Here's an old photo of Manila's Jones Bridge in 1942. The celebrated bridge connects Binondo on Quintin Paredes Street with Ermita. Check it out on Google Cultural Institute. https://goo.gl/6Wlgim #LovePhilippines

“ Ways to Appreciate our Culture “
Our country which is Philippines has many beautiful sights, delicious food, kind people and most of all our culture is beautiful and unique. Filipino’s are known to be generous, talented, friendly and Loving. But other’s do not see the value of their own culture and not appreciate it, which is sad and they put their attention on other countries such as Korea. I know many people love K-pop’s, like Bts, Blackpink, Twice and many more, and I respect that, To be honest I’m also fan of they but the thing is, we should more appreciate, respect, love, and put our attention in our own culture and country because this is where we came and grew up, even if our culture is not beautiful as other’s. The Ways to Appreciate our Culture is, encourage other’s to travel to our beautiful country, put more attention on our country than other’s, love and support more our “KABABAYAN”. Lastly is to purchase more products of the Philippines so we will know the value of our culture also we will know how beautiful it is, we are still young, we will encounter so many things. I just wanna say that we should appreciate our culture and be proud of it.
As a Filipino student, I show respect to our culture and country, by appreciating it and singing our national anthem with respect also without changing the lyrics because it’s very disrespectful. Some of us have forgotten that we have our own culture and literature that where we have neglected it. When you were asked, if Samgyeopsal or Adobo what will you prefer? If I had to choose, I would choose adobo not just because of its taste because it is from the Philippines and that is my favorite food. Lastly, I’m thankful that our ancestors left us a beautiful culture also having a kind, loving, caring and cheerful fellow human being.
“ A nation’s culture resides in the heart and in the soul of it’s people.” - Mahatma Gandhi
In this quote, I can say that we should not only appreciate our culture, we should appreciate it with love, because it is one of the treasures we have and we should be proud of it. It is not only culture that we should cherish and love, but also our fellow human beings so that we can have a good relationship and not disturb everything, for us to have a peaceful country. We must also work together so that we can further develop our culture and enrich our country so that we no longer lack anything else we need. Lastly, we should also share the blessings God gives us, because sometimes they are the ones who need it most.
“ We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we belong to one human race.” - Kofi Annan
I know we have different cultures but even if we are different in what we believe we should still respect each other as well as our own culture. It is not just our own culture that we should respect and value, because every culture should be valued and respected. But my point in the first paragraph is that we should more appreciate, love and respect our own culture.
That's all, I hope you learned a lot from my blog post and I hope you don't just learn this lesson we should do it too.💖
