THE IDEA that fate exists and determines death and life seems ludicrous to jayce, who’s always been more fond of science and its raw concepts --- death was only factual when it took place, no room for what ifs or questioning. the sentence uttered, then, has a light frown be put over his features. despite the turn of logic that seems fallible, there’s something about it that he can find relatable, something that brings him back to rubble & dust from zaun of ages ago. 

it’s the closest he’s been to death and he indulges into wondering how things would’ve panned out, had viktor’s automata succeeded. 

the thought has grimace turn into a scowl and deepen.

“---POINT IS, you didn’t. there’s no point in lingering on what didn’t happen.” his tone is hardened, almost distant. part of his sentence may be directed at himself, but there’s no way to know when the truth that lingers in his mind is private.
