#2673 - Spilogona maculipennis
From a large genus of Muscid flies. I'm not sure if the species is endemic to Aotearoa or not, but the majority of sightings of the genus on iNaturalist are in that country. On the other hand there's a thin scattering of them elsewhere in the world. Apparently if the fly has a shining, undusted proboscis and clearly visible prestomal teeth, then it is definitely a Spilogona. There's also over 50 undescribed species.

The Great ACT-NSW-NZ Trip, 2023-2024 - South to Central Otago
Via Tarras, the Lindis Valley, and the Lindis Pass. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs, but not for long.
But I did see a few species, and unfortunately, a few of the introduced ones that have showed up all over the place. And a plinth commemorating the introduction of red deer to the area, while we're talking about bad ideas.

Album reviews, 4/28/18
Tarras- Rising: Last of the random extra albums for now. This is a really solid Celtic folk album from 1999. I have to admit I like the instrumentals more than the sung pieces, but I would definitely look for more by this group! 7.5/10
Make sweet, sweet love to Tarras Ori. I dare you~
“Wh-what?!” Orion’s face turns bright red. “But what if he doesn’t want to?! What if I mess it up and do something stupid?” He shakes his head. “No, not risking it...”

Tarras
Drop me a character name and I’ll reveal my muse’s heart…
VISUAL ATTRACTIVENESS: 💗💗💗💗💗That face. Those abs. Literally perfect boy. His gay heart almost can’t take it.
FRIENDSHIP LEVEL: 💗💗💗💗Orion’s confided an awful lot about his life to Tarras, mostly an “in-the-moment” sort of thing, but he doesn’t regret doing so. He wishes he knew a little more about Tarras’ life, but if he isn’t willing to share that information, he can’t force it out of him.
SEXUAL DESIRE: 💗💗💗💗💗Orion really, really wants to make sweet love to Tarras. The only things stopping him are his own inexperience and insecurities. He wants to be everything for him, but really he just needs to be himself for him.
ROMANTIC INTENT: 💗💗💗💗💗 Orion’s heart races whenever Tarras is there. He adores him, and just wants to be the best boyfriend he could be for him and shower him with love and affection.

Tarras...After Queenstown, we wanted to go to some Fjords and made our way to Te Anau. We didn’t have time for Milford sound and we were really sad about that. On the way to Te Anau, we drove along a huge and beautiful lake...unfortunately it started to rain again and it didn’t stop. So when we finally arrived in Te Anau, there was nothing, we could do! After a walk through the town, a nice coffee and after we viewed some fog, we decided to drive into the direction to Christchurch, cause we had to drop off our campervan there. We were lucky and found another place where we could stay for the night for free...it was at a beautiful lake near Tarras and it stopped raining...that’s all we wanted!
