when pretty becomes the norm
i dont think that the whole point of aestheticizing or romanticizing a life and living a life such as that fullest to you is that so YOU COULD BE FEELING THAT WAY 24/7….
bc face it or not, eventually it will grow on you as “normal” somewhat and “conducive to everyday activities”.
but once you introduce this atmosphere you’ve created to someone else, their wonder and how astounded they are will be like experiencing it fresh, alive, and new for the first time. and i think that’s what it's mostly about
cant say as an 18 year old that i have a real concept of what “sexism” is, but whatever it is, i can definitely say that i’ve experienced it more from women in my own community than probably any man in my life like ever

⛧・ ゜ ʚɞ ゜ ・ ゜always hearing about people talking about how “technical” oils are when painting...but like i genuinely feel as though you can construct an entire image created in detail out of a single abstract thought, and how there's soo many other mediums don’t allow for this (as in everything has to be pre planned) . sure there’s technicalities like needing the right kind of oils or making sure your oil soaked rags don’t combust and set on fire. but they’re also so beautifully conducive to abstraction and ambiguity ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆

today i tried hanging my jellyfish painting on my bedroom wall from my sketchbook, because i didn't want the wet paint to get to the other side and rub off. hanging the paper was sort of painful because it kinda felt like the needles were pressing into my thumbs, except there was no other place i could think of to put my little sketch...like who knew that the process of just wanting to be seen would kind of hurt this much?
i don't know why, but it made me think of high school, and the fear, uncertainty and hopelessness of permanently feeling doomed to a feeble and incompetent existence. and i guess it was just then that it was reinforced that pain would be more soothing and ache less when it was left to itself instead of being pushed, tugged, and played around with...like somehow it's easy to handle too much at once..but deception, or seeing something that's not really there just feels nearly impossible.

there are some things that are so indescribable, inconceivable, and not tangible that the only way to truly capture it is to make some sort of intimation towards it...instead of trying to grapple with it for it’s full light. because when you resort to sheer and raw detail, you risk distorting and contaminating it. Rather, you should let the perception of the viewer wander to all the things it could be...and therefore be closer to the truer more accurate reality.
