The madness crept in on all sides. The tears had stopped, but there was no negotiating with the despair. She hasn’t eaten in three days.

She managed to sleep last night, at least, a momentary reprieve from the tears. A fever had overtaken her, and she shivered beneath the piles of blankets, sweat forming on her temples. What was to become of her? Was she to be consumed by madness that had not visited her in over a year? A similar affliction had overcome her in August of the year prior. The precious few hours of sleep seemed to have done her some good, besides the splitting headache that accompanied her waking.
What will become of her? When will it end?

What a nice lady she was.
