P R O T E C T I V E ▫️S T Y L I N G . . . Mini twist is my favorite protective style to wear...! I can retain length from most protective style but I wouldn’t consider this a low manipulation style. I have experienced trouble in the past from leaving my mini twist in too long and ignoring those signs that my hair needed some attention, know this is my go-to but wearing any protective style requires discipline! I am sure we have all stretched the limits when it comes to our hair, putting it off for one more week, then one week becomes two weeks which leads to the risk for breakage and damage. I often leave a lot of my ends out which requires manipulation throughout the style to maintain. It’s always important to care for your hair even in a protective style! I would consider box braids, crochets, sew ins and more; low manipulation styles because the hair is truly being protected from the harsh elements around you. With low manipulation the hair is typically put away and there is minimal to no touching those strands. Protective styles and low manipulation protective styles are a great way to retain length but it still takes discipline and effort on your part as well, in my opinion a protective style does not mean neglect your hair..........please care for your hair underneath! Protective style is not neglect, listen 👂 to your hair! . . What is your go to protective style? . .
