~*~ There were bruises hidden by long sleeves, though it was obvious she had cried a lot recently. The red in her eyes and cheeks were telltale signs. She’d gotten away for now, but she knew she’d have to go back. There was nowhere else for her to go. The man who’d approached her had an air about him that made her able to open up more than she’d been able to in the longest time. She didn’t say exactly what happened, that she couldn’t do. Instead she’d told him she was hurt, hurt bad, and said four words she’d thought but never voiced before.
Haunted green eyes, dark as the middle of a forest, stared up at him. She didn’t plan to admit those words out loud. Ever since that day things got bad, though bad wasn’t the apt word to describe it. No, how she’d uttered the sentence was the best way to sum it up. She wasn’t who she had been. Not even in the slightest. The person she was had died. Kaisa swallowed and dropped her gaze. There was too much there to unfold to a mere stranger.
“It still is,” the gaunt female murmured and sighed. Why had she said something so blunt to someone she didn’t know?
Kaisa chewed on the inside of her bottom lip and let the wavy blonde locks obscure her face, as though she was hiding or retreating into herself. Would he have her go to a professional? It was one of the last places for her to want to be. She was eighteen, nothing really good would happen from a report would it? She’d still be stuck going back to her own personal hell until there was a place she could live safely, a place those who’ve harmed her wouldn’t find her.
