Sophie didn't mean to push his buttons like this. She never could keep her mouth shut in an argument, this time being no exception. She huffed a breath out, fist clenched to the point she could feel her fingernails digging into palms.

"I didn't ask you to do any of that," he had a point, and when she was calmer she would realize that, but she was feeling a sort of way. Projection was a hell of thing, wasn't it? The flash of red and heat around her made her pause slightly, but deep down she knew he wouldn't hurt her; not like this anyway.

"You're not a freak, you know I don't think you're a fucking freak. You know I don't think of you as a monster, come on," that made her madder than the perceived lack of caring she felt earlier.

"Whatever. Fuck me for wanting to hear that you care. I mean, I've made it pretty obvious how I feel, I guess it's too much to ask for the same."
