I am constantly trying to find solutions for those that follow me. Fair price and USA made along with quality, reliability and durability are the traits I look for. / The @vortexoptics Viper 2-10 PST gen 2 meets a lot of these qualities. People constantly ask about good optics that are cheaper. After some good time of constant use I’m very impressed with the new Viper. / Waterproof, first focal plane, parallax adjustment, MIL/MIL with a zero stop and 10x on the high end and 2x for close up work. If you train with me you’ll see that 2x is very doable at CQB distances with correct setup and technique. I personally lose no speed compared to an RDS and there are plenty of students to validate that. With 10x my carbine is easily capable of 500 yd hits on 1’x1’ targets whereas an RDS can’t even see the target. / My two complaints.... there is no daytime visible red dot but again, with proper gun/optic setup and proper technique when training you’ll lose nothing.......the zero stop works well but is a very different adjustment than most. Plenty of videos online to help with that if needed. / For those that feel the Razor is too expensive this is a great option. We have seen them online for $800ish. The super #smallsize and #lightweight of the NX8 make it very appealing. But, the #eyebox and #fov #fieldofview is pretty tight. The ATACR is still only 21oz but the larger size and #34m tube, along with the better glass make this more expensive option the nicer looking scope. Both are #firstfocalplane #ffp #F1, both have very brightly lit dots. I was surprised just how bright they were.
