PNW LSAMP 10th Annual Regional Conference - February 28th - March 2nd on the UW Campus
The UW LSAMP will host our 10th Annual Regional Conference for about 250 underrepresented minority (URM) students interested in STEM from three states: Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The PNW LSAMP Alliance includes Washington State University, Boise State University, Oregon State University, Portland State University and the University of Washington. We are also expecting URM students from our eight 2-year partner colleges who are interested in STEM major/degrees. There will be 15 break-out sessions over three days: and four keynote speakers. Our program begins Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the HUB North Ballroom.
Outstanding speakers both local and national will empower URM STEM scholars as they address our theme: “Vision for the Future.” The conference will focus on identifying, developing, and investing in PNW LSAMP scholars as future innovators in STEM with a commitment to equity and excellence.
Please help us spread the word and encourage our UW-URM/STEM and pre-STEM students to attend this life-changing three-day conference. Student registration is free! As you may know, our conference is one of the signature programs, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), LSAMP program.
UW Graduate programs in STEM are encouraged to participate by tabling in our “Opportunity Fair” on Wednesday, March 1st from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. For more information, please contact me (June Hairston; [email protected]).
Thank you in advance for helping to make this an outstanding event on the UW campus. Thursday night is “School-Spirit” night, in which students from across the alliance will wear their school attire. Let’s welcome them to our UW Home!
