there's a certain type of anxiety that comes with being asked to come to ghost's quarters. rudy knows he shouldn't be nervous — ghost was only here temporarily. this probably wouldn't be a permanent thing, is what he kept reminding himself.

( he hadn't even knocked on the door yet, and there was something inside of him that wanted more from this. he wanted more from ghost, and he didn't even know what ghost wanted with him yet. )

rudy hesitates to knock on the door. he has half a mind to turn around and head back, but he doesn't. he knocks, then he opens the unlocked door and steps inside.

" it's rudy, " he says, his voice a bit soft.

Gemma had been enjoying her early night off, for once she could enjoy some downtime. And quiet time. Turning on her music she closed her eyes, relaxing until she heard the familiar ding.

heart  races  beneath  her  chest,  breathing  coming  out  desperate  +  entirely  too  fast,  but  she  can’t  seem  to  calm  herself at all. there  had  been  harsh  words  about  finding  somewhere  to  hide,  about  keeping  herself  quiet,  +  she  feels  like  she’s  done  both  of  those  things  well, whether he agrees? a whole nether matter.  it  doesn’t  stop  her  from  worrying  about  being  found,  about  worrying  about  her  companion,  her  bodyguard.  she’s  heard  enough about him  to  know  he  can  take  care  of  himself  plenty,  doesn’t  quite help  the  fear  coursing  through  her. 

purposeful  foot  falls  head  her  direction  +  she  clenches  the  knife  he  handed  her  three  days  ago  (she’s  a  little  surprised  she  hasn’t  drop  it  yet)  in  her  hands,  ready  to  do  just  what  he  told  her  too  with  it.  even  if  the  idea  of  actually  stabbing  someone  makes  her   sick  to  her  stomach.  a  person  comes  closer,  lifting  the  knife  in  anticipation  before  she  sees  the  all  too  familiar  mask,   “  oh  thank  god.  ”     her  whole  body  relaxes  into  the  water  tank  she  found  cover  behind,  relieved  that  he’s  alive.

He didn't need to be told twice. Experience. Training. He had enough to navigate the situation - though apparently not enough to keep himself out of it. "Дружній, дружній!" He almost cursed himself for the callout, not a single thought to if anyone around him even spoke his language - call it a knee-jerk reaction. Who would think in their third language under the stress of having a gun pointed at your back by a stranger. A stranger on the same level of training as you; or definitely more, by the tone of his voice - the confidence it held. "Not an enemy." He called, accent heavy and turn slow; calculated as his posture was strong.
