Honestly it's not something about a specific character but about the universe in general.
LTW IS A MESSY UNIVERSE TO LIVE and I don't see how can someone choose to be there, like I get it, you can probably have a cool super power, deal with super villains, etc.
But you're SCREWED in every other aspect, you have to deal with demons, monsters, wicked beings, weird phenomenon, super powered evil scientists, a guy who stole Jesus powers, everything that Annie broughts to the world.
They are dealing with a world ending threat EVERY TWENTY YEARS. The golden age of superheroes (the 70's in the LTW universe) was basically a global war between humanity and a narcissistic dude that felt disrespected and made Titans, Giants, Kaijus, Jotun everything in between
In the 90's we had the awakening of the Moon God, casual stuff honestly, the problems were the consequences of the fight, apparently breaking the moon was enough to cause A LOT OF natural disasters. The problem is that 6 years later the whole planet was infected with an illness that created crystals all over someone's body but gave them nice pinkish eyes!. (And that's why Valentine has pink eyes, he's the first children of someone who survived the latter stages of that illness).
By the late 2000's we had everything that happens in LTW and that's a lot, even worse if you consider the stuff that happens in Spidersica.
But the most important thing I wanted to say about this is how a human in ltw would be the most absurd thing irl, you're talking about creatures that endure stuff that would kill or shatter someone's bones easily, average people who can restore organs using a cold beverage, the main cast is always being impaled, beaten, slashed, shot, burned, shocked and usually are fine in the next morning. SPECIALLY VALENTINE, Sadako's father gave him three swords in the chest as a welcome to the family gift.
