Welp, I’ve got ME2 on my (I think) original Origin account. Now to figure out how to save edit cause hell no am I going with the default choices.
Now that I’m playing on a PC, I can notice things I never did before; such as Miranda’s underbite and the weird way that Jacob’s lips flap around when he speaks.
I love this thing
Andromeda is pretty fun. The facial animations are...mostly ignorable. The female faces...less so, but I prefer aliens anyway, and the major female NPCs aren’t as bad as the secondary ones (and oddly the tertiary NPCs seem to look better than the secondary ones). Multiplayer is fun. The main game is about as good as Inquisition in my opinion. Other minor nit picks here and there (such as a particular NPC I’ve already talked about enough on the other blog).
The most annoying things so far: my computer lagging in combat and CTDing during one multiplayer match and just in general seeming to not be powerful enough, which might be a hardware problem or an optimization problem, it’s annoying regardless; and the way the ship has to do the whole “leaving this place, flying to this place, orbiting, zoom out” thing, with no skip option. It was cool the first time, and in some cases I think it might be to hide a loading screen, but doing it every. single. time. you go to a different planet in a system just makes me not want to explore the systems any. I also think they should have just used the “orbit” view of the planets with a simple “press A to land” like in the trilogy games, instead of zooming out, since scanning seems to be pretty much pointless for the most part (and that seems to be the only reason to zoom out), and the orbit view both looks better and is more immersive.
Also, what the fuck? Like every random (female) NPC and their cousin seems to be romancable. The most random people get romance options. WTF? I do like that they’ve split the romance dialogue from the main dialogue like in Inquistion, that’s a really nice change from the trilogy.
I also kind of wish you could customize your classes more than what we’re given with the general profiles and "favorite” loadouts. I also wish there were more turians in the multiplayer. Maybe DLC with have more, like they did for the trilogy.
Skyrim: Better have those headphones on and connected before my window pops up or else you’re going to have to close me out and start me up again.
Dragon Age Inquisition: Oh, you turned your headphones on? Cool, let me just switch to those then, how’s that? Better? Cool.
Mass Effect Andromeda: What the fuck are headphones?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh, you turned them off and on again, now I understand how sound works.
Seriously, if I have my headphones on before opening Andromeda, my sound cuts, it doesn’t even play through the speakers, it just has no sound until I turn them off (at which point it plays through the speakers fine), then on again (at which point it switches to them and everything’s fine). Wtf?
I like this song, but it was annoying to find it because all I ever see it used in are memes.
My Day
* Almost no sleep because I was hungry and by the time the food was done I had less than six hours before work so I couldn’t take the pills that help.
* Huge ass truck load.
* Told to stay another three hours because.
* Asked to come in again tonight, reflexively said yes.
* Bordering on shutting down for the rest of my shift because I still haven’t become functional and Tuesdays are the only day of the week I do anything but work or sit in my room or sleep (it’s tabletop with friends if you’re wondering).
* Had to go get the store manager and explain to him that I can’t come in tonight because the person who asked me originally had left not five minutes after asking me.
* Get home, find out I forgot my keys somewhere on one of the carts, possibly to be crushed in a cardboard bail.
