FFXV Writing Prompt

Everything was going fine during the Festival. And then, out of nowhere, in front of many cameras, before millions of people's eyes, Prince Regis Lucis Caelum collapses. He is rushed to the hospital, but his heart stops 3 times before they save him. It gets revealed not only was their Prince struck by a bullet but poisoned as well. It is not King Mors's wrath or Prince Regis's Retinue's wrath that Nieflhiem faced off against after this attack, but the people of Lucis. They rise up in fury and anguish, the attack against their kind, sweet, accepting prince the final straw on the camel's back, and they absolutely decimate Nieflhiem.

The people of Lucis may not like King Mors, but they absolutely love their prince, their Regis. (Years later, when he sits the throne, they are just as protective as they had been during that festival.)

How did the lucian's view the kingsglaive now that nyx is "king" of Galahd?

I feel like I answered this one before at least in passing. Like, quite a while ago.

Anyway.

The Lucians are quite cautious. This was quite the bomb that dropped. Now there is a big scramble for more information, not only about Nyx but also on Galahdian culture in general.

Because everyone throught they knew what the culture was: wild and barbaric. (And did they even know what electricity was before they came to Lucis?)

But now they were slapped in the face with the fact that they obviously don't know the culture. Many people really don't like this.

Some people don't like Galahdians even more now simply on principle. Quite a large number is more willing to interact with the Galahkari now, because since they have a king, they must be more civilized than they thought.

There are going to be quite a few debates in the background. Not sure if/how I'll include them in the story. (Since there's already so much going on.)

Also, for fairness' sake: There is a number of Insomnians (mostly young adults) who are quite open to Galahdian culture and genuinly want to know more.

It's a spectrum all the way through from bigot to tolerant to accepting.

When the Starscourge first spread across the world and brought on eternal night, how was the first week or so for people in Lucis?

Other than the daemons becoming much bolder, their environments didn’t change too much (Comrades shows us the sun took some time to fade). 

The fear must have been paralyzing. Their king is dead, his son is missing, the royal retinue MIA, the Oracle is dead, there are reports of the Empire having been overrun by daemons and…now things are looking grim there, too. 

Grim might be an understatement. 

To sum up the problems: 

No acting government

Probable economic collapse 

DAEMONS THAT WANT TO KILL YOU 

Less sunlight, proven to be diminishing over time, which means MORE TIME FOR DAEMONS TO KILL YOU 

When the Hunters put out the call to Lestallum, people latched on and went. 

The first groups, frenzied and panicked, tried to drive through the night. 

They didn’t make it. 

After hearing reports of this, Hunters and volunteers set up an escort system. 

Two caravans set out, following two paths through the more populated cities and towns of Lucis. Get to a stopping point, and you’d be brought to Lestallum safely. 

However, despite the fear, people start to help each other. 

Neighbors give those without a car a lift to the nearest town. 

People help the sick and elderly pack, and prioritize their placement/safety. 

While waiting for a caravan, people talk, share food and supplies, keep stranger’s children entertained so they can take a quick break. 

True panic/fear–potentially a small rebellion against the remnants of the Crownsguard–probably doesn’t kick until a year in or so into the World of Ruin.
